By the numbers, they're extremely close IMO. Anthony is the better 3pt shooter, rebounder and scores on a higher volume. While Harden is much better at drawing fouls and playmaking. Harden is also a more efficient scorer than Anthony.

Both are average defenders.. so yeah, there's definitely a legit argument for both players. I prefer Anthony for now, just based on him being a veteran and has proven he can sustain this type of play for a longer period. But for the long run I would obviously choose Harden and I wouldn't be surprised if he'll surpass Anthony when he's done.

EDIT: I'm also very impressed at Harden being able to score more efficiently than Anthony on a much worse team. The fact that he still has a 60+ TS % on this team, as a first option is mind-boggling.

I've watched Carmelo in the playoffs every year since he's been in the league. There hasn't been a year that he hasn't laid an egg in the postseason. Even in the 2009 playoffs that his stans so love to bring up. He disappeared after the first game against the Lakers.

Carmelo is not a playoff performer. Stop trying to re-write history. He has underperformed every single year.

Melo can score in every which way. Post up, off the dribble, shooting, slashing etc.

Harden is mostly a shooter, he can drive at times but lacks the size and atheletism to do it when he gets to melos age. But harden is a better facilitator. Melo is a much better rebounder especially offensive boards.

Defensively they are both meh but Melo at least has the size to defend more positions.

i'd take Melo easily at this point, but harden hasn't reached his prime yet. if he becomes a better defender i might have to rethink.
