Harden rarely gets injured. With his skill set i think he can be effective in his late thirties.

That's not the point I was making Breh.
Pierce; Wade, and CP3 were/still effective in their mid 30's. Were they/are they their franchise player status in their 20's? No, and that's the point. Harden is a top 5-10 player, yet the Rockets still won't be contenders anytime soon.

You really think the Rockets are going to be shyt w/ Harden when they get cap space 3 years from now? Why would a top star in 2023 want to come to Houston to play w/ a top 20 Harden who's 33, when they can play w/ Giannis; Luka, BI/Zion who are all in their 20's at that point?

Bro I guarantee you top free agents would want to come to Houston with a 33 year old Harden.

He better turn out right. I'd prepared myself for the Coli meltdown. Kyrie + KD + Harden + D'Antoni = Pure uncut fukkery the likes of which basketball has never seen :banderas:.

They won't have to play defense because they can score 150 ppg..

Houston wont trade him. James stuck. Trade harden by role players brehs. Houston not dumb
Been telling ppl this. Ppl think they just goin trade him to trade him. Some disrespectful ass trades. He’s not touchable but you gotta give a good package in return. Team don’t even want to attach multiple first round picks or one of their top 2 players.

think about what Houston traded to get Harden and that was jsut on his potential. We traded two first rounds picks and our best player.

North Jersey but I miss Cali :sadcam:
When the NBA implemented these supermax contracts, it had unintended consequences.

The NBA is the only league where a player can turn down an annual salary of $50 million comfortably. Players can take less money and still be paid more than most athletes just so they can decide where they want to play and team up with whoever they want.

If i'm Houston, I'm making Harden play out this contract and trade him in the final year.

Well that’s assuming someone still wants Harden in two years for $40 million.

Houston tried, they really did, just couldn’t win. It’s time to rebuild. I do think Philly for Ben Simmons would be the best option, at least they get a young all star back. Would also keep the league competitive. But who knows, Houston might want to do right by harden and send him to Brooklyn :yeshrug:

Either way their time is up

The only way it will work is if he takes a pay cut. but the players union won't allow it. But that's the only realistic way it gets done this year. Houston doesn't have any leverage because teams know he doesn't want to be there. Harden's style of play makes it hard to build around him. His usage is too high. And at this point it needs to be in order for him to be effective.

If there was another way to make a trade with Brooklyn, it would require a 3rd team.

houston’s leverage is the 3 years harden has left on the contract...unless he’s gonna sulk and play during all that time or fake a 3 year long injury then they have more leverage than him...that being said I think the rockets are actually ready to blow the team up and want to trade him and westbrook so they’ll have no problem trading him if they like what they get which is the main impasse right now imo...idk if BK has an offer the rockets’ll like but I can see them exploring the option of trading him there in an attempt to do right by harden AND get a good deal for themselves...I suspect the desire to move on from each other is mutual at this point

It is mutual. Houston isn’t trying to hold this man captive. They’ve made it known they’ll fulfill his desires but give them a great package

They underestimated the intelligence of the players. They thought dudes would just be blinded by these huge sums of money. It's pretty simple...if I am guaranteed hundreds of millions of dollars either way, I might as well be where I want with the players, coaches etc. that I want. You don't wanna wait until the final year because you will have no leverage. No one is gonna trade the farm for half a season of Harden unless he is gonna stick around. Teams will roll the dice on a couple years/year and a half though. They hold the cards now and have no reason to rush but they can't wait too long though.

I would trade Harden for Wiggins. Or Westbrook for Wiggins. Houston should look to at least try to get equal value. I'm not making a trade with Brooklyn, unless they are willing to give up Kyrie along with picks and players.

Westbrook for Wall, and sign Cousins to make the cypher complete :manny:

At the end of the day Harden never even took Houston to the finals. He shouldn't have a say in where he goes.
