He solicited the money along with the Dem establishment.

Dude is a former lobbyist for the Podesta group who flushed $100 million down the toilet and got washed by 15 points against a shytty incumbent.

There is nothing about him that makes him remotely qualified for DNC chair. You fukk outta here.
Wow, he asked for money for his campaign. Big whoop. That's what he's supposed to do especially after the race went national.

No such thing as flushing money down the drain if you're in a competitve race and by almost all accounts, people and polls said the race was competitive. He was not the same category as Hagar or McGrath in the run up to the election by any means.

You can call Graham a shytty incumbent all you want but he's not in the context of South Carolina politics.

As far as his qualifications for DNC, I didn't bring that up. You did.

The point is the Democratic Party hyped this dude and convinced a bunch of people and corporations he was that guy, and he ain’t shyt really. They put all their fundraising efforts behind him while they lost easily winnable races elsewhere.

How many times are we gonna fall for the red state Democratic rising star gag? They’ve been doing this since Wendy Davis. Where is Wendy Davis now? Oh she just ran for Congress and lost and nobody even knew. It’s always some milquetoast corporate motherfukker and they always lose. Harrison is no different. He was a lobbyist for the Podesta group! That means he lobbied Congress on behalf of Wells Fargo, Berkshire Hathaway and a bunch of multinational corporations. He isn’t your friend. Stop caping.

Money was put behind him because he's running for Senate. There' no Democratic Senate candidate that wasn't going to get money. Anyone thinking otherwise is just being ignorant.

Democrats went out to compete against all Senate candidates. There were some races that were useless and did not seem competitive, but Harrison's was not that.

And really, I don't give fukk who he lobbied for. I really don't. If he wants to attempt do right by the community in South Carolina then hats off to him.

And therein lies the problem with the so-called left. The sentiments expressed in the last paragraph of your post are in direct contradiction to each other.

Play purity politics all you want. Not my thing. He was a lobbyist, he isn't anymore. He is free to do what he wants.

It’s not “purity politics.” What more evidence do you need that establishment Dems—the lobbyists, consultants, politicians, revolving door from corporate America to elected office—will never make changing the slow downhill trajectory status quo of average American life their top priority?

Dude was a lobbyist for coal, tobacco, and big banks bruh. They (successfully) lobby for things like keeping wages low, keeping people in debt slavery, foreclosing on homes, destroying the environment, gutting labor protections, and successfully fending off lawsuits for killing people. That is in direct opposition to “doing right by the community of South Carolina.”

You don’t become a lobbyist then have a come to Jesus moment about uplifting the people through elected office. Dude is just another careerist. How do you think he got the whole Dem establishment on his nuts and was able to raise so much money? I was getting emails from him everyday and I don’t even live in SC.

He might be aight in office one day, but stop:cape:

Best believe he would go right back to lobbying if that was his best option.

Oh no, big bad lobbyist. So scary.

Great you got emails asking for donations during a nationalized Senate race. Good. That means his campaign was doing its job.

Tired of people trying to determine who does and doesn't get to be a politician just because of their background or previous employment. I can make anyone from any background look like they are running for politics just to serve themselves. Do you have an approved list of jobs that you're supposed to have before running for office? :rudy:

You think someone going from a corporate lobbyist for Wall Street, tobacco, and coal to being a politician isn’t an indication and influence on how they would govern? You refer to lobbyists as just arbitrary previous employment?

You’re a bozo. It doesn’t even make any sense continuing this conversation.

Just like moderate Dems in office, these dudes dig in whenever they’re confronted with the fukked up shyt they directly or indirectly support. They’re never in the wrong and they can never ever strive for anything greater.

The issue with lobbying is the blatant corruption and pay for play. Would you be ok if someone was lobbying for Trump? Probably not. That matters.
