Album is very different from the previous two, if you like those.. you might not fukk with this one. It's ok. 
It's a nicely crafted pop album imo, if you are into that genre just like R&B.

So because I like the album I'm biased? What kind of logic is that? Y'all like stuff I don't mess with at times, but I don't say that about you or anyone else. But I know this forum is known for hating Janelle..so I'm prepared. I'm standing my ground proudly. :D

Btw, she's not even my #1 artist.. but when good music is out there, I have no problem appreciating it.
Like I said, the album is different from her previous two in terms of production styling and songwriting/storytelling approach. It's more "bold" and "unapologetic" this time, lyrically and a bit 80s pop sounding as well. If you loved The ArchAndroid and The Electric Lady's approach, I don't expect you to like it. But I'm one of those fans who loves evolution and change too. So I can respect what Janelle did with this record. I can't wait to see the film tomorrow because all it's going to do is bring these songs out even more. The story of Cindi will always be there, even when Janelle doesn't mention her directly. I always felt like Cindi was Janelle's musical alter-ego to begin with.
And here is the first review I've come across. 9/10. ;)

My favorites on first listen are "Screwed" and "Don't Judge Me". "Americans" is cool too.

Not a fan of the lack of soulfulness in the tracks. It's sounds more like a rock/pop/folk album than an R&B album.
