I am a tv news photographer and I get to interview celebs from time to time. She was such a great interview and very easy to talk to.. Inwish I had more time to talk to her but she was in the middle of a press run.
Woah! For real?

May I ask how did you get a cool job like that? Like did you go to school for photography or something. What was the road to that profession like?

No wonder she came out the closet. This is a gay ass album and it's not good. This silly hoe jumped out the window with this one.

I got a hint of this character flaw back on her unreleased music where's she's singing about someone that killed themself over her. Just sounded like this broad was touched for a moment . What a way to throw thrownawaybyears if artist development :mjlol:

I'll be shocked if she has 2 more albums.

Time for them to break a new artist. This one was sizzlin, now she fizzlin.... :camby:

This vulgar trash

:mjlol:Lmao Damn so it's like that? Your hugs are fickle like that smh. Well keep your funky hugs to yourself, I didn't want one anyway or did I lol...you ain't right!

As for dirty computer being up there with Archandroid, no I don't see it doing it as effortlessly or well as Archandroid and you know this lol but again I respect your opinion. I do agree that her team and her are geniuses though and they are extremely talented. For them to make the music they do together as far as the different styles they pull from shows that they really study and know music. They really make a great team and even though Dirty Computer is not my favorite Janelle album I still look forward to what Wondaland put outs next.

I agree with you on cosommogramma as well, that album sounds like it came from a whole other world or something lol.Indeed he is very talented.

As for Take A Byte, I agree that bass like the icing on the cake for that song. Also Indeed, they did their thing on I Like That and hopefully they do more new work cause they are some great producers for what they did with Outkast, Good Mob etc. coming out of ATL.
Well, you really did want one but you over here playing.. so I’ll take it back if it’s like that. Lol.

The ArchAndroid is still her best work, but I see potential in Dirty Computer. Either way, I really feel that both are better than Electric Lady from start to finish (as a complete album experience). And I’ve even come across a couple of other people on twitter saying the same thing, minus the people who have said it on other forums/sites I’m on.

But once again I respect your opinion. It’s all good.

Indeed! I’m also very exited for Janelle and Wondaland’s future as well. They’re all very blessed with immense talent. :blessed:

And I definitely agree!! I would hope to hear more from Organized Noise as well.

92% after 17 reviews now. And 9.2/10 from 248 ratings.

Dirty Computer by Janelle Monáe

Album is being recieved well. Pitchfork will probably give it a nice rating too. Probably not over a 9, since they barely rate albums by female artists that high. Smh.. but that’s another story for another time.

I wonder how much she’s predicted to sell this week too. It should be her best first week sales yet. I see it’s in the top 3 on iTunes, and her other albums are charting as well.

:russ: Lmao how you know that? I'm not gonna confirm or deny that but if you say so lol. If you could take it back it wasn't genuine.

Indeed, I just see it differently but I respect your opinion though. I can't agree but everyone's taste is different and maybe they can relate to DC more or they like that style better then Electric Lady.

I guess maybe it's not that crazy to say what you did then, I may not understand it but your not alone with that opinion.

Dope, that's good for her. The streaming era of music might work to her benefit.

Which song was about a man killing himself over her? Also how is it vulgar?

I kind of see what your saying on this being her come out album lol but I feel it's solid. Not her best at all but it's not trash either.

It's corny and she sounds corny. It's not even the subject it's just how much profanity is on the album combined with the thinnly veiled lesbian I'll take your girl shyt. Sounds forced doesn't sound natural. It's obnoxious. She's turned heel. She sold out. She's even mentioning that people like who she portrays herself as but not who she really is. And she fake to? She's done done.

Here's a song she made once upon a Time that hinted at this character that's inside her.

She's singing here about missing out on love because she didn't treat a simp nice who was infatuated with her.

She reflects that she regrets it because dude is now dead and she treated him badly.

The happy ass tone is weird but and out me on notice she was a weirdo.....

Confirmed with this corny ass album.

I could just tell, and you kinda hinted at it in your previous post. You just playing hard to get. Haha. Lol! My hugs are always genuine to good people.

True, but then again, I was the only one who basically liked the singles leading up to the album. But I always follow my instincts regardless of how other feels, when it comes to music. I can be alone on an opinion, but I don’t care, nor does it phase me. Lol. You’ll learn this about me too, if you don’t know already. ;). It’s ok if you don’t agree or understand. But then again, music conversation would be boring as hell if we all agreed on everything. :yeshrug:

Finally was able to make it to Target to buy a physical copy of the album to go with my iTunes copy. The only thing missing is the vinyl.

I wonder why “Stevie’s Dream” is listed before “Don’t Judge Me” on the track listing of the physical but after on the digital version? :jbhmm:
