Forreal. Yo of all these none talented rappers and r&b singers like drake and rihanna ya criticize someone who is actually pushing the envelope in 2013. Janelle can sing rap dance and is very professional. Ya mad cause she aint shaking her as like the rest of the r&b attention whores. I heard both her albums and they re amazing. Ya the same people that worship kanyes ego. And give him all this credit for being daring with talent and experimental. To me he hasnt dropped a good album since late registration. And no I didnt like mbdtf. It had some good songs but thats it. Janelle can actually carry a album. She didnt even need features. She has great instruments song structure and a good concept. This era Is so backwards.
This is why I don't post here as much. Janelle Monae is "overrated" yet the same dudes that be saying this worship Drake/Rianna/Chris Brown etc and other pop-trash artists.
I guess Anthony Hamilton, Raheem DeVaughn etc and the like are all overrated too.

It ain't always about "talent", its about an artist's ability to relate to their followers; being "felt." Most people can't feel a connection to Monae's music, nor her image.
