She certainly ain't no Prince. I've seen her described by many as the female Andre 3000. Now i can kinda see the comparison, but



To be fair, i don't think its just plain unnecessary hate to be honest. That huge thread gathered a lot of peoples interest especially given the rave reviews people were giving it, and upon listening were underwhelmed.

I listened to her first album a few years ago and i didn't go back to that either. To be fair, she can actually spit .... her flow and lyrics are quite nice on some tracks. But i just can't get into the sound of the album as a whole.

Breh I legit gave homegirl props. She's crazy talented which is why I have high expectations for her musically. It could almost be unfair and unrealistic expectations. It could also be the reason why someone like an Andre 3000 hasn't put out a solo joint. When you are versatile sometimes it can end up a big fukking mess with no direction and that's what I get from Janelle.

I've listened to her music. Tight Rope was pretty dope but it's like she attempts to change the game with every track yet it falls short. It's like what happened to NERD's Seeing Sounds.

Seeing Sounds was their best album.

In Search Of.. and it's not even close. Seeing Sounds went too experimental. I enjoyed it but it could have been better if it weren't all over the place.

It's certainly not her lyrics, voice, range, creativity etc. Why hate on her when it's not like she's a megastar anyway?

That song with Miguel is nice...overall I think she's overrated though. Not my cup of tea.
