Imma keep it a buck wit you….on both Mike and Janet albums they be having ALOT of skip worthy material cuz I’m not a pop nikka….but as far as Jams, Janet in those two albums got Mike hands down (obviously this doesn’t include the greatest hits CD that came wit history)….but Janet’s cuts are phenomenal….. lonely, anytime, got til it’s gone, funny how time flys….she got more too….chick got banger bangers

I'd say her 80s output is underrated compared to Madonna. I tried listening to Madonna's immaculate collection but found most of her material weak. Janet's music is just better all around, and she is a more compelling artist.

As time goes on white people's music never holds up. Underrated industry plant clown who spent her whole career hanging around discos and "Hip Hops" as white people called it then and just emulated what she loved.

Just like Bruce Springsteen. Just like Bob Dylan. Just like Elvis.

All these people whos status were defined by a purely white journalism community are being forgotten as folks realize Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder, Chaka Khan, Aretha Franklin, James Brown, and so much more were the true geniuses that made far more lasting work.

I've had a 20+ year crush on this woman . I wonder how she would be looked at if that whole Superbowl thing didn't happen. Cause she doesn't get the props she deserves imo. She the blueprint for your female R&B artists.

I finally watched her doc like 2 months ago and proceeded to take a deep dive in her discography and videography. Control and Rhythm Nation had long been in my rotation. I definitely have a greater appreciation for albums like janet. and The Velvet Rope though.
