Technologically and even having a good quality of life...assuming you have money...is better than say comparatively vs the 90s. Culturally it's not better and I find myself being nostalgic. Culture wars, social media, all this nonsense is making the world worse.

:ehh: facts

Japan is stingy on immigration, so they can only complain so much

here? young people dont want to pay off child-related debt to go with the upcoming house/car payments. i dont know a single young person that wouldn't be crushed by the cost

If they were more open to foreigners they could buffer their population decline easily with immigrants. A lot of people would love to live in Japan

Ever since COVID they’ve been relaxing immigration laws. They know they’re fukked so they’re offering cash incentives for Japanese folks to have child but they know it’s not overnight so they been letting more people. Indians are everywhere now, one even became the mayor of a city. They also introduced the digital nomad program where workers don’t need a visa as well. Plus they’re courting entrepreneurs to start up over there as well and partner with the Japanese government which would give them a pathway to citizenship.

Maybe coli brehs who travel can expound on this,

but from what I hear, Japan is hands down probably one of the best cities ever in regards to culture and safety. Immigrants would fuk all that up, so it's good they are strict and they should stay strict.

They just need to fix working hours and get people to fuk.

See above, the very culture and isolationism is exactly what put them in this situation. Japan is truly fukked they do not innovate and not the future place everyone makes it out to be. America is in the early stages of what Japan went through. They have a long to way in terms of modernization, tons of people still have flip phones and websites are still on Web 1.0.

That being said one of safest countries and culturally rich as even if it’s my 5th time in Tokyo I still find something new to do.

A lot of my friends say the same. Japan WAS technologically forward but they’ve stagnated since the 90s/2000s. Very slow to change and how they run their companies

Have you lived in Japan? How many years and did you get involved with the locals?

Their culture can be changed in a way thats beneficial to families. There's a lot of things they can do. You know what can't be changed? Adding a bunch of immigrants who can cause all sorts of problems. It should be a very last resort. Sure they can be selective, but now you're talking 20 - 30 years to change it around. Japan is a small island too, only so many more people they can take.

Lastly if I go to Japan, I want to see Japanaese people. Not Indians, Americans, or Pakistanis

Only visited but ask @Mike_Pipeson

Breh this isn’t a 20-30 year fix, we talking generations to see them recover as a population. Japan has a lot more livable space areas than you think. Everyone wanna live in Tokyo, but you got Osaka, Fukuoka, Sapporo, Kobe, Nagoya, Okayama etc.

You go to Tokyo you ain’t escaping Indians and Nigerians have been there since the 90s. shyt then you got the expats in Okinawa. Immigration has never been the problem it’s their stagnant economy and culture which forces citizens to not bring in kids.

The bonus is traveling there and you walk into a 7-11 to buy a strong zero at 11:30am and those Pakistani workers be mad as fukk watching a black man be on vacation and enjoy japan like they thought they would living there. :ahh:

Fertility rate is a weird thing. Like in Gaza right now with the sky raining bombs...theyre experiencing a baby boom. Like in the last place on earth you would expect :dwillhuh:

Also in general I think every single government in a first world country is concerned about this topic...so Japan isnt alone
