Brook has always been known as a mediocre rebounder especially being his size. And being that he has NEVER even grabbed 9 boards a night I think that is an apt description for him.BROOK LOPEZ STARTED OFF AS A SOLID REBOUNDER
BUT THEN HE STARTED USING THIS METHOD WHERE HE WOULD BOX OUT HIS OPPONENT AND ALLOW FOR HIS TEAMMATES TO GO AND GRAB THE BOARD AS HE SEALED THEM OFF
If you're not rebounding, you're not ending the possessions. As a big that's part of the job description. Anyone more focused on blocks than stops is telling on themselves.1. He's not a center
2. He leads the team in blocks, and our defense is noticeably worse when he's off the floor
3. No one cares about labels or antiquated definitions of defense and defensive anchors. As long as the team is doing what it is supposed to collectively we're good. Tony Allen was a great 1 v 1 defensive player for us but over time his deficiencies held the team back. The game is more nuanced than dumb ass critiques show
It's insane that JJJ has haters. Why is there a thread on his rebounding?
He's not that prominent of a player.
Them fraudulent DPOY'sI do agree he should average no less than 8.5 RPG but there's also the entire other side of the ball called defense.
That's Bam's DPOYGo watch NBA games from 10 years ago then
We talking about a DPOY player not being a great player, FOH

status, but he's a great defender and a decent scorer. Plenty of teams will gladly take JJJ off the Grizzlies' hands if they're that stupid to trade him.
These old cognitive declining dumbasses can't remember anyone outside of the top 10-15 players and assume everybody was like them.Kwame Brown was in the league for 15 years or something. You dudes always exaggerate.
He’s a solid scorer, great blocker, moves smartly etc.
He’s not the designated rebounder so he doesn’t get the easy ones, or else he’d likely be a 10 bpg player
The Grizzlies grabbed the second most total rebounds per game last year. Ranked #3 for Offensive rebounds, #4 for defensive rebounds.Watching teams play great defense for a possession just to give up an offensive rebound and then the other team scores.

But the Grizzlies had the second most rebounds per game last year. #4 in defensive rebounds. If you're not rebounding, you're not ending the possessions. As a big that's part of the job description. Anyone more focused on blocks than stops is telling on themselves.
Straight up - JJJ has never been better than Joakim Noah. If someone thinks otherwise they're just casuals.
It was just a general statement. The Grizzlies grabbed the second most total rebounds per game last year. Ranked #3 for Offensive rebounds, #4 for defensive rebounds.
In 4 of the past 5 seasons they’ve been top 5, including #1.But the Grizzlies had the second most rebounds per game last year. #4 in defensive rebounds.
Like conan said, y'alls basketball analysis is antiquated. The Grizzlies don't need JJJ to rebound because they have plenty of guys for that already.

I've never understood how any player 6'10 or better can't get at least 8-10 boards a night if he plays 30 minutes a night. But some guys just aren't apt rebounders despite how big they are. Brook Lopez is another one who has always frustrated me with his lack of rebounding prowes
