Might need to be an assistant 1st
I'm thinking the same thing. He should get his feet wet at a D1 college. Get his system down pat, see what kinda of offense he wants to run, learn his strengths and weaknesses, see how he coaches up players who didn't have the skill level and hunger he played with, etc..

He'll definitely be a head coach in about one or two years

Didn't he have his assistant calling plays most time? The dude that just got hired somewhere else?

There are certain men who just have it. I thought ray lewis could've jumped right to hc. Head coaches delegate most duties to their assistants anyway. Larry bird did that. Head coaches oversee that game plan. Sometimes u gotta think outside the box. Kidd will draw seats plus he is respected by players. This isnt a rebuilding team so that makes it easier for Kidd. If he has high level assistants it can work

I just feel that someone w/ da respect of Kidd shouldn't possibly ruin his image by fukkin' up as a coach. Just go out on a good note like he did, or, start @ a lower level

Kidd already met the Nets today. Shaw is still set to interview on Wednesday.

We shall find out soon enough if Kidd gets the job.

Element of Jason Kidd's pitch to Nets, I'm told, is Lawrence Frank joining him on bench, giving Nets assistant w/HC experience they demand

Nets taking Kidd seriously as head-coaching candidate, sources say, but one must is Kidd being surrounded by lots of experience on bench

Jason Kidd's candidacy w/ Nets is getting serious consideration, sources tell Y! Work's ongoing to assemble a staff to make this possible.

Nets GM Billy King will meet with Brian Shaw on Wednesday, as Peter Vecsey reported. Shaw still figures largely into search process.
