LeBron James had a major problem with Kobe Bryant's shot selection during 2008 Olympics, per 'Coach K' book

Everyone knew it," says one Team USA staffer. "They know when another player is being selfish. Players can police themselves, but in this instance, as LeBron was coming out of the game, he said to Mike, 'Yo, Coach, you'd better fix that motherf-----,' as he walks by. He was talking about Kobe."

The Redeem Team was supposed to be all about accountability, and this was James holding Coach K and Bryant accountable. Krzyzewski told LeBron that he would talk to Kobe and asked that he trust him. The coaching staff met through the night. This time they talked only about how to handle Kobe.

The next morning, before leaving Shanghai, Krzyzewski asked Bryant, a three-time NBA champion with the Lakers, for a private meeting. "Coach was nervous," says one of his staffers. "He knew he had to do it."

Coach K pulled out a laptop and sat with Bryant in a room. He showed Kobe a few examples of questionable shots and pointed out his teammates standing around and watching him on some drives to the basket. Krzyzewski told Bryant to his face that these were "bulls--- shots." Coach K added: "There has to be more movement."

LeBron cooked him in practice then sent him to the principles office. :wow:
So LeBron had issues with Kobe but wasn’t man enough to call him out to his face and you think that’s a flex. :dead: You sound like a bytch like your idol.:mjlol:

To be clear, im not challenging the bolded

But it's always interesting to hear these kind of framings from a US perspective as beyond the us, the united states interpreted is as an (oftentimes THE) international archetype for racism... nations have entire identities around NOT being as racist as the united states... Canada and Brazil are 2 noteworthy examples (not saying they are all that justified for such posturing).

In international media one can casually hear/read politicians, regular people etc juxtapose themselves against the US' social standard of racism/ws...

now of course the united states doesnt present itself like this to itself.... we're none the wiser...
They regularly make monkey noises at Black players during soccer games. They have a team Lazio that prides itself on being modern day Nazi’s.

Maybe in the 90’s these countries would “posture” themselves as being less racist than America but that shyts been out the window for a long time. They’ve all elected their version of Trump :mjlol:

Given Kobe’s sordid relationship with the law and his history of violent and erratic behavior towards teammates our King was wise to remit his behavioral correction to the proper authorities trained for such matters.

This isn't a " maybe in the 90s" this is a contemporary phenomenon im referring to. Im not making these references up. no need to turn captain America (which i anticipated though)

This nation is positioning "us" (assuming you're black) into a whole nother civil rights movement...this is going to be the THIRD civil rights movement by the way. There was whole nother one in the 1800s about voting rights... school desegregation... even had a 1st professional baseball player moment again all in the 1800s. no need to refer to Trump as this is a permanant social political cycle of the nation that will repeat itself into perpetuity . Both sides indeed.

nobody knows anything about this cause it'll destroy the public relations narrative of the US being some continually forward moving nation

Yes that's remarkably racist... and it shouldn't be defended as its indefensible
