Dude really believed that Mamba shyt he invented for himself.
Got checked by Samaki Walker.
Had to make that crying phone call.

Kobe was a great player but these dudes out here really thinking he was THAT GUY.
Probably was making all them Italian hand gestures, too.
:heh:
I think being an outsider his whole life what he learned was as long as he was cold on the court everyone would fall in line behind him. Like Italy is a famously racist and xenophobic place but you really don’t see Kobe having any problems and I think it’s because he was so good at ball they just worshiped him as an alpha no matter his skin color and that colored his perception of life.

“As long as I’m the best baller nobody will fukk with me”

He gets to LA and comes across a bunch of hood dudes who are hooping for a pay check and don’t really give a fukk who you are on the court after the buzzer. That fukked him up and he assumed that he had to pretend to be this thug like he was a newbie on the cell block and smacked the shyt out of the box toughest guy there lmao.

Honestly that’s why I miss him as much shyt as I give his stans. Dude was a unique guy and the story of him hanging out with the Spaniards at the Olympics so he could psychologically analyze them or playing the piano at 4 in the morning after a playoff loss sends me every time.

“Limited bag”

He’s the fukkin all time leading scorer in nba history.

You’re like the Goku of morons.

Every time someone thinks you’ve reached your final form you somehow go Super Saiyan Retarded.

Truth hurts. Compared to all time greats bron just doesnt have the same skillset. He played a very long time, cool....still doesnt possess the skillset of a MJ, Kobe, Kareem, etc...

I hate how comfortable people get talking shyt about Kobe when he's no longer here to defend himself.
What an insane take. As soon as Kobe died it turned into a crime to not include him in your top 10. Putting him in your top 3 used to be the equivalent of trolling, but soon after he died folks were testing the water, and now every hot take artist and every Mexican in the states is touting that bullshyt as fact. Stop it. People can still talk about shyt that happened

Nah. Cut this bullshyt out. Kobe was being compared to Jordan throughout his prime and was routinely viewed as a top 5 player. Thats just facts. This idea that Kobe received some legacy boost after death is one of the most laughable narratives I've seen spewed in sports history. Yall cant be serious with this shyt.

I don’t remember a consensus of Kobe ever being viewed as top 5 all time tbh

The top 3 spots are always reserved for Jordan/Bron/Kareem and the last two spots were tricky. Some give it to Russel/Wilt outta respect, even if they never saw them play. Some give it to Magic/Bird for changing the game. But there was never room for Kobe over these players

To me, Kobe Bryant is the NBA's Derek Jeter.

Both great Hall of Fame players. Both with outrageously insane fans/stans who acted like their hero was far greater than he actually was -- though to be fair, Jeter's "stans" aren't nearly as passionate or vocal now that he's out of the game. There are other similarities in terms of personality, and how sterile they were as superstars and having political/social opinions, but that's not a discussion that cannot be had among the mongoloids on this board.

If you were to study Kobe's game and career in a vacuum: elite player, tremendous drive, great career, and was on his way toward being one of the greatest ambassadors of the game when his life was cut short.

Having said that, his stans are so over the top with their insane claims about his abilities and greatness. The Dear Leader jokes are completely warranted. These people are sick.

To be clear, im not challenging the bolded

But it's always interesting to hear these kind of framings from a US perspective as beyond the us, the united states interpreted is as an (oftentimes THE) international archetype for racism... nations have entire identities around NOT being as racist as the united states... Canada and Brazil are 2 noteworthy examples (not saying they are all that justified for such posturing).

In international media one can casually hear/read politicians, regular people etc juxtapose themselves against the US' social standard of racism/ws...

now of course the united states doesnt present itself like this to itself.... we're none the wiser...

Maybe if you combine Jeter with Arods personal accolades/numbers. But Jeter himself is D Fish status :dead:
