I didn't know Lakers fans were so pessimistic

:ehh:
Realistic. I mean if the Lakers had Gregg Popovich a guy who runs a system that allows you to play Danny Green minutes, add in guys like Patty Mills and fat ass Borris Diaw and some old old ass superstars and still compete at a high level and contend for titles year after year then maybe Kobe taking a pay cut would make more sense, but Byron Scott:francis:

Let's say Kobe would have agreed to tak a pay cut in order to bring in another superstar, or star player. During the last 4 season who was available for them to bring in? Name the players. Lamarcus Aldridge?:mjlol: You winning a chip with Kobe and Aldridge and scrubs? Everyone knows that the goal is to land Durand and/or Westbrook which now they can try and do and now they have other pieces to go with it.

Even if Kobe agreed to take 15 mil instead of 30 mil, who does that extra 15 mil a year go to:ohhh:

:mjlol:

Kobe wasn't willing to leave money on the table and if the Lakers would have let him walk or did him dirty the organization would have alienated majority of lakers fans.

Any true fan knew they weren't winning a good god damn thing the last 4 seasons REGARDLESS

Edit: Aldridge is a bad example because even WITH Kobes 30 mil salary the Lakers still made a run at Aldridge and he chose no to play in La, maybe it was because of Kobes personality:yeshrug: who knows, but it didn't have anything to do with Kobes salary.

So name some other players:russ:

Wait, I forgot about David West and Kevin Love

Kobe, West, Love and scrubs :ehh:

:mjlol:

The problem with Aldridge is he wanted the team to have a foundation and the Lakers had almost no one under contract. When he asks what the makeup of the team will be, the answer is "this is it, we paid Kobe so once we give you the max, we are capped out, we will surround you with Kobe and any vet min players who don't care about rings."

What does this even mean? The guy has won ships for the org for a quarter of his career and you're really going on this he hurt the Lakers angle?

:snoop:

Yeah, i'm going with that angle because that's what happened.
"The org" could've won ships for half of his career if he wasn't an a$$hole.

You really gon' act like he didn't try to twist "the orgs" arm during his career?

- "I don't wanna play behind Eddie Jones"
- "I don't wanna play with Shaq"
- "We suck, I wanna trade, but I wanna choose where I go"
- "I don't want to help y'all convince the big ticket free agent to come here"

...and look that's fine if he has the power to do that. But don't watch him do that,
only to have the team in it's current state, then expect the team to succ him off
while they have some of the worst seasons ever. That's disgusting.

And this is you saying "it's Kobe's fault" instead of the messenger who created that mess?

Dog....just say it's Kobe fault he signed that contract. Look stupid

He won ships once every 4 years of his career...but because he fell short of 10 championships, he's a failure?

Yea I get it. And he made the best decision for him. That's what it's about, everyone involved will do what's in their best interest, Aldridge wanting a foundation, Kobe taking his money, and the lakers being like, we got Kobe until he's soon off the books and we can make moves, take it or leave it:yeshrug:

Now when they make a run at Wastbrook/durant they will have more of a foundation than what they offered Aldridge, they still need to address the coaching situation which is proby the most important going forward

I didn't say "he was a failure", now did I?

You can't deny he is the major reason for the Lakers being the shytshow they are now. You can't deny that.
You also can't with a straight face put all the blame on the front office, when you know they wouldn't make a move without his input.

He with Shaq or Pau (because he never made it out of the 1st round of the playoffs without one of them) were
beating the chit out of the rest of the league. Why would they break that up?

Semantics

He fell short of ten ships stopping at five.

So that makes him a (fill in the blank with tomfoolery)_________

Lakers fall off was due to hubris, incompetence, and letting J. West go. That man shoulda had a lifetime sweetheart deal of his choosing. All he has done since is make the Grizz respectable and consult a possible GOAT team.

Funny how willing people are to recognize the impact of circumstance and the FO when they are shytty. The 5 chips are all Kobe though :mjlol:.

Who said they are all any one player?
He left with what he left with. To say 5 ships is falling short and franchise failure is the bigger fault displayed in this thread

Plenty of people, plenty of times, on plenty of platforms including this one. Who said the anything about 5 chips falling short?
