this reminds me of the same reaction that was had when Jay dropped 4:44

And after a few weeks people were onto the next album. Then after a year, people were saying it wasnt that good in retrospect.

I like the album. Solid effort. But the over the top dramatic shyt by these dudes in here is ridiculous. nikkas in here talking about crying over lyrics and the verses made them proud to be a Black man again

And I saw it coming too. I'm at the point in my Coli membership now where I literally KNOW which albums these cats gonna overhype. I said it yesterday before the album dropped nikkas was gonna overhype it. I wanna know how you feel about it after you listen, bro.

Dope album...almost feels like Jay used Jay Elec as an excuse to go full hotep hov, plus we finally get to hear Jay rap on an alchemist beat!
Jay is channeling some of Mach's flow on universal soldier too.

Welp this was wack. No amount of dikkriding or taking in the lyrics will save this. I can’t party to it, the flows are all over the place, lazy bars and deliveries. Not worth the wait in my opinion. Haven’t enjoyed a Hov verse in years.

Yall wildin Nasir was big time trash, LT2 was a muuuuuuuch better release from the gawd, Kanye was overproducing the fukk out of that album and Nas didnt sound hungry at all. Hov has been sharper these last couple years if we count 444, The Carters joint and this easily
