Semantics. Jay, 50, Nelly and Em were the hottest rappers out.

Jay didn't need no crusty azz feature from Beyonce. She needed him...that's the difference :heh:

Stop being stupid for 5 minutes. Ask yourself why Beyonce hardly does features now but, had features for her first three solo singles? What does that tell you? :stopitslime:

First off, I'm dealing with you like a man, deal with me like a man. The insults should be kept to the playground. After I point out who the 'hottest rapper' was at the time, you claim it's semantics? Stop contradicting yourself. Jay-Z wasn't the 'hottest rapper' at the time, and if anything, he was somewhat in a bad position after Ether and BP2 being weak. You claim Jay didn't 'need' a feature, yet he got one anyways? Rappers and singers do features, that's what they do. You claiming Beyonce needed help after being in the #2 top selling female R&B group of all time is idiotic.

It's not idiotic. Just because you're in a successful group doesn't mean you'll be successful solo. Backstreet Boys and N-Sync were selling 20 million albums a piece. Only one of the lead singers made the transition. The broad from the p*ssycat Dolls. How'd her solo career go? At the time, nobody knew whether Beyonce could make the transition.

At the time, Jay wa...........I'm not even gonna argue with you bro. Believe that the singer that was just setting out on her solo career was hotter than the dude who'd already dropped 7 albums. I'm not gonna change your mind :stopitslime:

Look at her peers from that period......Ashanti....first single....by herself :stopitslime:

Alicia Keys....first single....by herself :stopitslime:

Amerie....first single....by herself :stopitslime:

Beyonce....first single....big time feature :heh:

That was Clive Davis making sure his sweetheart went platinum out the gate :heh: That was Columbia Records having millions upon millions of dollars invested in Beyonce successfully crossing over as a solo artist. "Call up Usher, Jay-Z, Sean Paul and Missy Elliott" :heh: If Beyonce was sooooooooooooo hot back then, she would've carried her songs on her own. Beyonce made Jay-Z....nikka please :stopitslime:

actually.... beyonce's first single was by herself, and that shyt was a complete dud even with the neptunes at the peak of arguably the most dominant run from producers and being the theme song of a huge multi-million dollar movie :heh:.

and THEN a jay verse pops up :mjpls:

That was from a soundtrack, so how could it be a dud?

Uhhh..no, not if we're talking about it having anything to do with a solo album.

that shyt flopped and was thrown out and they went back to the drawing board :russ:

"Work It Out" will also be the first single from Knowles' solo album,Dangerously in Love, due in October, according to her manager and father, Mathew Knowles.

Content is unavailable on the video, and I'm not sure where you got that excerpt from, but it sounds like a lie considering her album didn't drop for nearly a year after the Goldmember soundtrack.

its from an mtv article from 2002, idk why this shyt tryna embed it was media but it aint. There's no lies about it at all, I'm sure the success of work it out had quite a bit to do with the album dropping nearly a year later

I'm not saying you were lying, I was just saying it seemed like incorrect information. And I don't really see how we would measure the success of a track specifically produced for a soundtrack, but it is what it is. I can guarantee the record label wasn't worried about not recouping by dropping a solo Beyonce album.
