Isn't it possible that both of them are extremely relevant and popular on their own and they don't really NEED eachother in that capacity?

The problem is that they're both so popular that when they help each other we really don't know who benefited more out of the exchange. I remember seeing an interview with her saying that Jay helps ALOT with the studio process and has introduced her to producers and writers that she did not know or work with before him. You can hear it in the music

I think her tour this year is called "Mrs Carter" or somthing along those lines. This is a good example, because its kind of unclear on whether or not she's using his name to promote herself being that she hasn't released any music since "4" and Jay has been making headlines for this new album and the samsung deal and the sports agent thing OR is she using his name because its further good press for Jay-Z?

Breh, just because you do a show outside the U.S., it doesn't really make you an international star. Beyonce could go to any country on the planet and have the majority of the people know who she is, it's not the same for Jay-Z like that, mostly because he's a rapper. In fact, I'd say the only true international stars rap has are Tupac and Eminem.

U, sir, are moronic. Im in South Africa and I can definitely tell you that if they announce that Jay is coming down here, tickets will be sold out within two days. And Im talking stadiums breh. Stop thinking America is the world, there are other five continents outchea!

actually.... beyonce's first single was by herself, and that shyt was a complete dud even with the neptunes at the peak of arguably the most dominant run from producers and being the theme song of a huge multi-million dollar movie :heh:.

and THEN a jay verse pops up :mjpls:

I didnt want to go there. That shyt flopped. ALOT OF MONEY went into making sure Bey crossed over :mjpls:

I think they complement each other. He's a titan in rap. She's the queen of pop/r&b. Jay was a smart dude for marrying her when he could've easily got caught up with some pretty face.

I just couldn't go for people saying "Beyonce saved Jay-Z's career". He was already that dude. How you gonna upgrade me, what's higher than number one :scusthov:

Right off Wiki...

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Work_It_Out_(Beyoncé_Knowles_song)

"Work It Out" was written by Knowles, Pharrell Williams and Chad Hugo, with The Neptunes helming its production. Critically, the song was credited with marking Knowles transition into the music scene as a solo artist, after fulfilling a career as the lead female vocalist of Destiny's Child. Knowles premiered the song on May 23, 2002, via AOL. The song served as the first single from the soundtrack album, Austin Powers: Goldmember, with Britney Spears' "Boys" following as the soundtrack's second single. Additionally, it serves as the album's opening track, and was released on June 11, 2002. "Work It Out" was also intended to serve as the lead single from Knowles' debut album, Dangerously in Love. However, it was eventually replaced by "Crazy in Love", while it was used as a bonus song on the album's international versions

I used to think he was a homosexual before he got with Beyonce.. He always talked about women like they disgusted him, had raps about purses and shoes and didn't have any facial hair or children. Then when I saw a clip of him trying to play basketball I was convinced he was Team Rainbow.

The fact that he got with Beyonce and had a family made me respect him more as a man, but I haven't bought any of his music since 2002...So I guess I'm exhibiting "dualities"..

She isn't the only reason but is one of the many things he most likely did to stay popular since making music alone wouldn't cut it.

I'd add 50 & Snoop too. Snoop can really go to any continent and do a show. He in Brazil whenever he wants, they love him down here.

Snoop can pack shows everywhere on earth till he dies without ever having another hit song

When was the last time 50 did a show in the US when he was headlining? No one checking for him musically
