I actually agree with him. It seems clear they look for very exotic looking black people for models. You are more likely to get a modeling gig looking like Lupita, than Nia Long.

and in cases where they don't cast a lupita type, they will get some extremely freckled face gingery looking black person next. Or a black person with a skin pigment disorder that makes them literally half white like a horse. Anything that seems more "unique" to them.

Its rare to see a black model that looks like she could be the girl next door.

Him implying the black beauty should be all inclusive is not anti black
There are different sectors of modelling. The idea of high fashion modeling is striking, polarizing features. A good looking girl next door can find work modeling for retail brands such as GAP, Forever 21 which are meant to appeal to the average person.

A lot of them African models are pretty in the face, imo. Not really into skinny women but they are attractive.

But dude is acting like there hasn't been plenty of lighter skin black women with European admixture in the modeling business.

Slightly unrelated, I hate "ion" for "I don't." It's dumb as hell.

Modeling had always had people who stand out. African models have very striking features and are also statuesque. European men in particular find that look exotic. Not saying it's right or wrong it just is what it is. Also keep in mind there aree levels to modeling. Most of these African women are in the like upper end of the sector.

I don’t know what super African means but she looks like a typical black woman to me :manny:

I’ve noticed that many white people tend to find certain features more attractive and often choose to date people with those traits, especially African features. I think it's diabolical that because of these preferences, Black people from the diaspora - who are descendants of slaves - have a harder time succeeding in modeling compared to others.
The thing is these xenophobes think that whites do this to mock Black people. That was the consensus on Lipita being the chosen one for a while on this forum. That is was an inside white hole. They can't see it. They don't see African beauty. Meanwhile that same beauty is actually appreciated by non Black people truthfully and those who have an inferiority complex think it can't be real.

Right now I work with a gorgeous dark Kenyan woman. Literally everyone in the building white or Asian was tripping about her beauty before I saw her. She's just regular to me. Same with this Ghanaian woman. Both dark and beautiful getting real admiration. But people who hate their Africaness can't fathom this...it's only that we look unique or something. Not actually beautiful.

:laff:

Nothing exposed this forum more than the rise of Lupita. I never seen such triggered c00ning and self hatred. The thread is still archived for anyone interested. It's a good preview into the mind of some :mjpls: posters here

As beautiful as her no, but skin tone, lips, and whatever yeah. Again I don’t know what y’all talking about super African. She’s not screaming exotic to me…
