There are different sectors of modelling. The idea of high fashion modeling is striking, polarizing features. A good looking girl next door can find work modeling for retail brands such as GAP, Forever 21 which are meant to appeal to the average person.
Yeah, i agree. But i think this is what he was actually trying to say. why is high fashion not hiring the GAP models?

The thing is these xenophobes think that whites do this to mock Black people. That was the consensus on Lipita being the chosen one for a while on this forum. That is was an inside white hole. They can't see it. They don't see African beauty. Meanwhile that same beauty is actually appreciated by non Black people truthfully and those who have an inferiority complex think it can't be real.

Right now I work with a gorgeous dark Kenyan woman. Literally everyone in the building white or Asian was tripping about her beauty before I saw her. She's just regular to me. Same with this Ghanaian woman. Both dark and beautiful getting real admiration. But people who hate their Africaness can't fathom this...it's only that we look unique or something. Not actually beautiful.

:laff:

Nothing exposed this forum more than the rise of Lupita. I never seen such triggered c00ning and self hatred. The thread is still archived for anyone interested. It's a good preview into the mind of some :mjpls: posters here

The thing is, as Black Americans, we generally don't look like that, so it makes us uncomfortable. I hope you can understand and empathize with that.

In fact, if you refuse to understand or acknowledge that this is a real problem, then you're a part of the reason why tensions within the diaspora have exploded. You can't dismiss us and expect us to stay silent or respectful. Keep acting like that, and don’t be surprised when we all reject you completely.

I understand what he means but he couldn't do worded it better.

Off the top of my head, most black models used by the fashion industry are East African. Whether they are Kenyan, Sudanese, Somalian or Ethiopian. If you think of the top 5 black 'supermodels'; Waris Dirie, Tyra Banks, Naomi Campbell, Iman and Alek Eek, three are East African.

Fashion doesn't really fukk with women of West African descent

This stems from the old and current separitist movement that dictates Black Americans look different, and are unique due to European and supposedly Native American ancestry that continental Africans do not posses..that's what some people carry around as a badge of honor and superiority..European blood!!. :mjpls:
Also explains why the one drop rule is defended so hard.

The whole hairline jibe is a male extension of females good hair racial rankings.

Same shyt really, lets not even pretend:yeshrug:
It reeks of “we’re suppose to be the only Black people to have these positions”

very odd behavior.
