I don't know if anyone mentioned it yet, but I feel like even No I.D. producing the whole album is a slight to Kanye.

People been wanting a Jay album produced solely by Kanye for years, instead he goes and gets Kanye's mentor who brought a very Kanye feel to it.

Not really because No I.D has been involved in most Jay albums since AG and he's a great at EP an album kinda like he did on LIG

Jay a snake. Pablo would have been way bigger without tidal exclusivity yet ye rode with him. Meanwhile jay dont even care about ye outside of rap

Nah Jay did an entire album with Kanye (WTT) and Ye produced the bulk of BP3.

If Ye wasn't stuck in the Sunken Place he could've done this album too

I can see James Blake gelling well with this kind of production. Choppy, energetic but with a certain beauty to it

JB is good at creating a soundscape and uses lots of clashing sounds and textures

I dont think it's any crazy conceptual type of record. I don't even think Jay takes Kanye's rants all that seriously. He's like that family member whose ALWAYS spazzing out but at the end of the day you know it's all love

it's definitely a more "emotional" grownup Jayz, and an introspective / retrospective of his life - now that he's a family man.

I disagree with you view on Jay not taking Kanye rants serious, Jayz is an emotional person underneath it all, I think he also looked at the success of Beyonce's deeply personal lemonade and took some cues from that. So I think he was really hurt that he gave his boy 20m and he goes on stage talking shyt on him.
