I liked it, but it wasn't Hard Knock Life, also, along with "4 Da Fam", everyone thought these would be on Vol. 3, when they were airing in late 1999, but they were saved for Beanie Sigel and Amil's debut. The Source review even said something like "Beanie Sigel may never know how much his album would have sold..." lol

I always liked this one more. Much more meaning and better subject matter. Hard Knock Life had the great bass line but is just one of countless Jay “I’m a successful drug dealer” songs.

I always thought I was the only person who thought this. I was never the biggest Hard Knock Life fan. Anything was amazing

I like the song but it just felt like a rehash of hard knock life? Trying to ride the wave with a similar single. Am I wrong?
It’s obviously the same formula (hook and beat), but Anything has more emotional depth than Hard Knock Life, which was more of a street anthem.

Jay was bragging on HKL, Anything was never that type of song
