Hate is a strong word, Hov just got somewhat relevant a few months before Pac passed. Pretty sure Pac didn’t even know who he was 6 months prior. And a lot of people don’t know Hov dissed Pac before Pac dissed him. Pac was labeled a troublemaker but he only went at people who went at him first.

They’re not enemies at all but they also are still VERY MUCH in competition and both have acknowledged it. You know good and damn well Jay-Z ain’t letting his daughter wear NO RAPPER’S face on a t-shirt who isn’t dead and gone (except for maybe Rakim) because his brand is built upon being the best and no other rapper is worthy. His daughter rocking a Nas shirt is bad optics business and image wise.


Same for Nas. You’ll NEVER see Destiny wearing no Jay-Z shirt. Its more about branding, image, and keeping a “one up” over one another than it is any personal animosity.

And honestly thats just what it is. When your at the level of both of them you gotta take certain things into consideration because, as jay would put it, their not businessmen they ARE BUSINESSES unto themselves.
