Lol. Don't go hard on me, breh
Just never got into Common.
I find it very hard to sit through his albums, mainly 'cause of the production and his delivery.
And I wasn't hating. He's actually a pretty good lyricist but his delivery is unappealing to me.

Luckily his production changes on every album, he sounds listenable in the 00's, pardon his natural Chi accent in the 90's,:scust:

If you love storytelling, bars and concepts he gives that in spades on most of the projects.

"Boring" is such a CAC conjecture term, users like that mean "Their music simply doesn't APPEAL to me in that style", can't be that boring if a Rap artist has millions of fans still playing their music as we speak.

I see your point though

I think pretty much all of his production is bland/boring.
And since the production pretty much drives the music I won't spend much time listening to that artist.
Add that into me not liking his delivery...then what do you possibly think that I will see in his music?
Production and delivery are the two most important parts of music, imo.

:scusthov:

Lot of people would disagree though :hubie:

It's all preference
:yeshrug::troll:

IWW was far more organic over time.
No one was campaigning for it. Nas doesn't need it to be a classic in the way Jay does RD.
They are both classics to me :blessed:
Bought them both the same day :wow:

It was more organic but to the extent you could call it a classic as cemented as you would Illmatic or something?

It's not like seeing AMW and DC instantly and calling them classics no hesitation. Predator is the debated one...same way IWW is. And besides a classic implies a sense of development over time and RD over time has developed more of a classic appeal than IWW (usually considered the superior album at least) whether 'forced' or not.

Nas is the better rapper. Clearly. Cube just made classic after classic right out the gate :wow:

How? What makes him the better rapper?

You said it. Cube released classic after classic after 4 mic (or higher worthy) album and so on until 1996. If it wasn't for his film career who knows how far he would have gone...and btw these are genre defining classics that transcend the music not just some purist paradise for literary arts.

Nas' discography is just a roller coaster and mainly flat. So how exactly is Nas better?
