Yet you make a thread singling out an artist, and stating your opinion as fact with an exclamation point and all. You obviously feel very strongly about the subject breh

:gucci:

Yeah, it's my opinion. And I never said he was trash. So where is the hate ? I just said there are better Mcs than him.

If the players are close enough in talent you can cherry pick stats. It happens all the time in the coliseum.
So where are the stats in rap music? Other than sales, what data has been gathered for me to say Jay Z is better than Young Thug w/o a doubt? We can both agree he's more talented but do you think thugs listeners ages 12 - 16 feel that way? Music is way more subjective breh you like what you like.

Did I say I care what 12 year olds or anybody else think? Or did I say what I think? I know its subjective. But like I said I'm not going to change my tune whether its subjective or not. That shyt is irrelevant to me. I don't care what other people deem is right:mjlol: It may sound cold but that's just the way I feel.

exactly i need to stop conforming to somebody else's opinion or believe i don't need acceptance or approval at the end of the day if im happy liking what i like then im good at the end of day and if im correct in my opinion and happy then that is all that matters.

People that try to say 4 out of 5 MC's MUST be there are tripping in my opinion and that only limits and potentially oppresses thought.

My top 5 is...

2Pac
K-Rino
KRS-One
Nas
Rakim

However there's many other contenders who I wouldn't be mad at all with somebody including in replace of some of mine, cause they might not have listened or they may have different views, which is ok, not everyone has to feel the same way. It's kind of disrespectful in a way to say there's only 4 or 5 candidates...

There's...

Jay Z
Scarface
Kool G Rap
Slick Rick
Scarface
Common
Bizzy Bone
Biggie
Slick Rick
Big Daddy Kane
Guru
AZ
Z-Ro
Chuck D
Canibus
LL Cool J
Big Pun
Melle Mel

I wouldn't be mad at them or a bunch of others being in somebody's top 5.

I think it's kind of corny when people try to enforce a list that's mandtory, when there's so many high level MC's.

Also the whole thing about not respecting people or lists because they aren't exactly the same as yours seems kind of arrogant.

I've seen lists from those embedded in the culture that don't include some of the names mentioned, they are credible people, who also have vastly more knowledge than the average poster here. I don't see how anybody can begrudge somebody like DJ Premier or Kool Moe Dee putting Melle Mel in their top 5 when you look at what he was in the time and also how some of those classics verses, songs and displays of skill have held up as sole of the pinnacle artistry in the culture and genre, BeatStreet Breakdown beautiful to this day, World War 3 ill, The Message goes without saying. Also people judge on other factors not just discography sometimes, I judge on discography but I'm not gonna dimiss certified legends who have other criteria, people judge on shows/performance, innovation and originality, all kinds of things.

I think some people need to get a broader understanding of Hip Hop, we have to look at the credibility of the person speaking, do try have knowledge? Not just dismiss them cause they aren't identical to us. People have different perspectives and criteria's, we should respect eachother when it comes from a place of knowledge and credibility, I don't need somebody's top 5 to be identical to mine or 4 of the same or whatever to respect them and view them as credible, it just has to be people who are at least worthy and contenders and not wack, after that becomes based off opinion, criteria and other factors.

ok compared that to old jordan hell even compared that to who he was playing at the time u a dust head !!!!! lmao smh.
He still had good games. Rip Hamilton hadn't developed yet and they still almost made the playoffs. Jordan had big games, especially when he dropped almost 60 on the Hornets, but he was older, with bad knees and wasn't the Jordan we loved.

I remember when he retired the major question was would he leave just to keep his career pts average high. It was never a question of was he still good. Just what did he expect to add to his legacy or possibly lose by playing.

He also was better than theIr #1 draft pick. The WOAT...Kwame Brown.

Hov set the BLUEPRINT literally (no pun) for the way a rapper career should pan out. From rapper/boss to exec to mf ICON. That ALONE warrants top 5. On top a that the ngga progressed each album frm high tier street rapper to grwn man raps still spittin fuego. Nggas discreditin Hov speakin blasphemy in here

Snoop dogg`s legacy is bigger than jay z`s and he didn't have to throw on a suit to do it.
