you niccas do know that CAA is partnered with Jay right??? :rudy: you niccas fall for errthing.

Jay aint nothing but a Trojan Horse. Rob Pelinca is one of the best agents out there, How you think he got Kobe makin 60 million /yr. Durant is young so it aint like he can't get him big time endorsements.

I think anyone who looked into this should realize that Jay brings the leverage of Roc Nation from a marketing arm and was never going to be negotiating contracts.

Let's be reality for a lot of these guys the contracts are slotted so there isn't much to haggle over. The rub to this ha always been what Jay can bring the the athletes off the field.

yo he can't bring them shyt that their productivity on the court cannot. Productivity on the court = endorsements.
team you are signed to = endorsements
Championships = endorsements
memorable games = endorsements
All star, All-NBA selection = endorsements
popularity = endorsements

These dudes are just signing up because its Jay-Z. it aint like we dont already know that athletes are really dumb when it comes to business decision :heh:

Elements of truth but that's pretty short sighted. That's like saying what you did earning your college degree is enough to get you a job but networking is not necessary.

Further, several of those items you listed the athlete doesn't have a lot control over so why wouldn't you want somebody out there pushing your brand.

Part of this is him opening lanes they may not have had access to before. I'm not here to argue if he will be successful at leveraging endorsements, that remains to be seen.

Jay z can never be one of the good ole boys because he's not white. Drop the c00n mentality man. As if a black man aspiring to get to levels that have only been reserved for "good ole boys" is something to shyt on him for. It's almost like some people want Jay to just chill and be a rapper:dahell: "Look at that sellout ass Jay Z, trying to do shyt white men do. He wants to be white, he needs to know his place"
I don't think you understood what dude you were quoting was saying. He wasn't hating on Jay he was saying at least what I got from it was that people acting like he's taking this over by himself but he has powerful established white people behind him. It's not like he is running things where it's some powerful all black backing behind it like even Mayweather from what I see with Haymon & Ellerbee. That's all I think most people are saying not hating or c00ning.

Maybe....but even the THREAT of Camel shaking up the establishment has some of these cacs :lupe:

As long as he doesn't c00n it, I'm riding for camel on this one. We need more control/representation in these billion dollar industries we provide the "labor" for.

This is one of the biggest mistake we keep making, and why Black politicians, "activist", and Democrats keep using Black folks.

Jay is not a threat to the establishment, he's become their fukking mascot to Black people, and one of their best earners.

So what's the "details" of his partnership with CAA? 50/50 split?

I see what yall getting at, but we gotta start somewhere. you gotta remember that CAA has resources as far as getting in touch with the marketing heads at major corporations who use athletes and shyt in their advertising.

As long as he didn't sign a puff daddy deal with CAA, I don't think it's bad for him to partner with them until he gets in good with the people he needs to know. He can get rid of CAA down the line. But if he is just a "puppet" for CAA in this deal, then yeah, it's bullshyt.

It's fun to see but let's not just yet celebrate this shyt.
Jay is cocky now, so he has to deliver he can't take L's now, every minor L will get blown the fukk up. Any win will just be a "meh" while every L will be because he's ghetto, a rapper, no education etc.

And :dead: at Mike Silva's twitter, he's retweeting Newarks governor Cory Booker now to hedge his (quite) racist tweets.

lol @ Kobe.
Probably the greatest team athlete of the 2000s and one if not the best known American athlete in the world together with Lebron and the Williams sisters.
And I thought everyone knew that he was partnering with CAA.

So many racial undertones and overtones lol in this shyt.

We need more black agents - but our athletes need to be up on game and need to look out for those black agents, attorneys, management firms. These are all predominately black leagues - within a predominately white infrastructure. Capitalism at it's finest. It's about power. We're entertainment to them and they want to maintain that. We got the shyt backwards - we dont support our own enough. Hopefully Jay can blaze a trail for some youngins on come up in the agent game.

If the NFL were a majority jewish league, they athletes would have jewish representation. Same with the Koreans, same with the arabs, same with the.....etc.
