'95-'96- Pac didn't run it alone. There was Biggie who had a stellar '95 as well. In '96, there was The Fugees. In both years, there was also Bone.

'97- Biggie passed, nut was on his way to having a huge '97. Puff came in after Biggie's death and dominated. Master P also had a big '97.

'98- X and Lauryn

'99- X, Jay, and Juve

'00- Nelly and Em

'01- Jay and Ja

'02- Eminem, Ja, and Nelly

'03- 50 Cent

'04- Kanye

'05- 50 Cent

'06- T.I.

'07- Wayne/Kanye

'08- Wayne

'09- arguably Jay

'10- Ross

'11- Drake/Ross

'12- Ross/2Chainz

'13- Drake/Jay

'14- Future

'15- Drake/Future

'16-

'17- Kendrick

Yeah, this is false as fukk...

The biggest lie is Eminem running rap in '99... with one hit single... while Jay was headlining a tour and droppin' hits the whole year... still selling with the Hard Knock Life album from '98, and droppin' another hit album at the end of the year.

Nelly "running rap" at any point is false. He sold a lot of records no doubt, but he was a 106 & Park/TRL favorite, he was never an influential artist or anything like that. It's like saying Flo Rida ran rap in '08 or some shyt...

People go to some wild lengths to discredit Jay, bruh... it's weird.

monster was huge WITHOUT drake.
beast mode was huge WITHOUT drake.
56 nights was huge WITHOUT drake.

fukk up some commas and march madness went platinum WITHOUT drake.

if anything drake latched on to future's buzz to keep him relevent.

Drake was big part of DS2 being Future's biggws project up to that point. Then WATTBA became Future's biggest project up until recently. Which of Drake's singles featuring Future is his biggest single? WATTBA would barely crack the Top 10 of Drake's most successful projects. Future benefited from Drake far more than Drake benefited from Future.

Nelly had the TRL/106 crowd, but it was fat from Flo Rida territory. Nelly's fan base was as legit as say a Ja Rule. Nelly had songs with State Property, sent a rebuttal to KRS-One, and even Jay propped him on "Excuse Me Miss".

Future was bigger than Drake in 2015-2016, numbers might not show but people know

This is not true. By that logic, Jay ran a lot of these years. Drake was bigger than Future in 2015-2016. Ua'll be rewriting history based on personal biases. If somebody's running something everything including numbers reflects that.

Funny how outta all those names only Hov still drop heat to this day :sas1:

Yo, first I snatched the streets then I snatched the charts
First I had they ear, now I have their heart
Rappers came and went, I've been here from the start
I seen them put it together, watched them take it apart
Seen the rovers roll up wit ribbons
I seen them repo'd, resold then redriven
So when I reload, he holds number one position
When you hot I'm hot
And when your feet cold, mines is sizzlin'

It's plain to see, nikkas can't fukk with me
'Cause I'm a be that nikka for life
This is not an image, this is God given
This is hard livin', mixed with Cristal sippin'
It's the most consistent, Hov
Give you the most hits you can fit inside a whole disc and
nikka I'm home on these charts, y'all nikkas visitin'
It's Hov tradition, Jeff Gordon of rap
I'm back to claim pole position, holla at ya boy :whew:

Future was a big part of what made DS2.

the hype that he generated from monster, beast mode, and 56 nights made DS2 anticipated.

DS2 only had 1 drake feature. i never heard anybody said they were looking forward to DS2 just because of 1 song that featured drake.

"thought it was a drought" was hotter in the streets than "where ya at".

The one Drake feature on DS2 was the biggest song on the album and at that point, it was the biggest song of Future's career.

Who was really checking for Drake that wasn't already checking for him before WATTBA? That project grew Future's base because his other ones didn't do as well then his label just started releasing music left and right.
