people forget hip-hop is a young genre. we're at the part of hip-hop where rappers are over 40 and approaching 50.

we're in uncharted territory now. at jay'z age is he supposed to listen to the newer hip-hop and rappers out right now or just have nothing but biggie and big l on his playlist?

the only comparison is older (still living) rock artist. do they listen to new rock?

Hip hop is the only genre of music that doesn't grow with its listeners. Once you hit a certain age...you can tell it's for kids.

We have 40+ year old rapper still talking about the hood and the streets. How embarrassing is that? What 40+ can relate to the lifestyles of kids that are barely out of college?
