It's a bit tricky... if you're a pure businessman like the CEO of GE you can tweet about your business all day... but if you're a "Brand' like Jay-Z or a fitness coach who sells supplements then talking too much about your products can damage your brand a bit. You have to keep the balance between authenticity to maintain your image and using your image to drive commerce.

Anyways, I've talked about the exact same thing you are saying. That Jay needs to understand that he can't be a rapper and expect to get judged like a corporate CEO or vice versa. Major CEO's can't be on rap tracks cursing, talking about fat asses with Rick Ross and Dj Khaled. Just like a rapper can't be selling technology with fake marketing (like everyone else). He's got to move a lot smoother or just be an owner.
