Jay-Z said no rapper can do a Verzuz with him because no one is on his level: “There’s not a chance anyone can stand on that stage with me”

No he can’t. If we’re talking hits then maybe but if we start getting into different levels of rap then no. Snoop lacks the range. Snoop has no answer for the Dynasty Intro, he doesn’t have a Song Cry, etc.
:mjlol:

those are not songs built for Versus.

The Chronic and Doggystyle alone give Snoop enough ammo.

We learned from Dipset/Lox and No Limit/Cash Money... it aint about radio friendly "hit" songs... those shyts dont hit at a Verzuz
First, I thought this was a toll thread and there would be a camel on a stage like the circus.

But this is Exactly what I was going to stay. Versus is more about "Performing" your records than the records themselves. And not too many rappers can perform better than Jay

If Jay Z kept it, without the big radio friendly songs..... and it was in New York...

Nas, 50 Cent, would be interesting.

Snoop for sure could hang with Jay. 20 tracks I pulled (not saying they're his top 20, but trying to get a range of tracks he's known for over the course of his career instead of spamming Doggystyle tracks (although I included 4 of those). :

Nuthin But a G Thing verse
Little Ghetto Boy verse
Gin & Juice
Murder Was The Case

Y'all saw his B Sides concert right? Jay is an A Tier performer, and his bag is as deep as it gets. fukk the commercial hits, "Where Im From", "Dead Presidents", "PSA" etc would all wash.

I feel like only Nas or Snoop could hold their own with Jay.
First I hear of this!! Is there a recording?

Jay is one of my 🐐’s. Top 2. But he’s delusional if he thinks no MC can do a vz against him. A lot of peers can and keep it close enough to win.

If he battles Nas for example and they hold it at MSG, who does he expect will show up? real hiphop heads who love both, probably in the 35-50 age range.

His commercial hits don’t hold up and won’t be received well in a vz against Nas. He’s not gonna play “hey papi” or “la la la” lol. Empire state of mind is a massive hit, but ny state of mind would absolutely wash it.

Nope, no one can do perform one album and win a versus that is the fanboy in you coming out.

The point wasn't using one album.

It was that that album alone out of his 12-13 or whatever, has enough tracks to kill sh*t. So if you throw in the other albums and all his features, dude is damn near unstoppable. Kanye's the only one that could f*ck with him.

Maybe Nas
But no rapper really has that longevity and the hits he put out so it’s not crazy for him to think that

Versuz is only 20 songs so it don't matter if you have a 5 year career or 20 years. If you have enough materiel to put 20 strong songs, that's all you have to do. Having a extensive catalogue can even be a weakness because now you have to choose between eras and vibes. Too much of a choice can be detrimental.

DMX Nas Busta Snoop even TI can compete with him easy

Nas can't do "I Gave You Power", "Rewind", "Stillmatic Intro", "Mo Money, Mo Murda", "It's Mine" and those types of joints at Verzuz.

That's the kinda sh*t he can do at his own show. For Verzuz, it needs to be records like "Hate Me Now" and "Made You Look". It has to be tracks that everybody knows and would go crazy for. "Verbal Intercourse" wouldn't work in Verzuz, but "It Ain't Hard to Tell" would.
