What are all these trends he hopped on?
His typical sitting on his high horse trying to talk at people. Jay was making bullshyt music well into his 40s.
for jay, of all people, to fix his lips to say some shyt like this. it just reinforces how arrogant and out of touch he is.
made almost nothing but young music for 99% of his career. then drops one old-head album and NOW the culture gotta move on?once again it's "i moved on to something different, and if you haven't moved on too you're wrong."
PS: he gets no creative credit for WTT... kanye was clearly creative director on that one.
PPS: no old-head credit for AWT either... or we gonna act like jay was "tryna kick knowledge" before he started running with j-elec?
Jay has hopped on trends since day one.
his whisper flow.. his song (not singing) type flow (from buckshot) the beat to PSA ... its documented that Blaze "found that sample" after black moon dropped of stay real at Hot 97
Jay has always had a sprinkling of maturity on his albums.. like BP2 had trendy BS on there but shyt like Some How,Some Way is there too..
Jay’s albums have never been full of Peter pan shyt like Drake,Wayne
the overall hate seems kinda forced or some of you dont really get what hes saying

X wasn't even signed to Irv
Big influenced everyone from Jay to Nas to a certain extent
The blueprint 3 was an album where Jay was salty because he felt hiphop passing him byEven tho I like Blueprint 3 isn't that kinda what he did on there?
All of this. Jay is exhausting. If an interview from him isnt about his new music i dont care anymore lol.
Jay didnt make a "grown man album" until 444. Some others rappers were doing that from day one.
Jay maintained his music relevancy by wave hopping.
I agree with him but this is nothing new or profound.
Irv WORKED FOR DEF JAM WHEN X WAS THERE
What are you getting influenced from? You asked what trends Jay hopped on. Irv is literally explaining how Jay jumped on bad boy trends after big died then was in office at def jam cause of X.
I can see your point with that statement but they been rapping about the drug game since the late 90s. They're also one of the few that talked about both sides of it, the high and lows.ima be honest, loved the clipse album, voted for it for AOTY on here last year in the thread.....but acting like rapping about moving weight on 80% of tracks at age 50 is mature music is insane
influence
/ˈinflo͝oən(t)s/
