This is a question that extends well beyond hip hop. Theres nothing more cultural than land. Consider how white power has degraded everyone's relationship with land and even the damn land itself

Sounds sensible enough that the people should dictate this relationship but no group of people have that kind of relationship to capital... hell that'll contradict the concept of capitalism

Aint no correct way of getting in bed with this beast.

Not really. Country Music. We are in the era where distribution has been democratized, we see it in how Black Men are some of the most popular streamers on earth, so our ability to create culture still stands, the question is when it comes to hip hop should it die and something new be created to replace it

Hip wasnt even born per se so it cannot die. Its along a contiuum of life and expression

Not really country music what exactly? Not following.

And im not seeing how privately owned algorithms with undisclosed secret formulas and criteria managing a handful of privately owned corpoate mediums is democratic

Creating culture is one thing...but molding into something white people find profitable and politically expedient is another thing. Thats not "culture" to me. But i understand thats not a popular take so i wont push that issue

Lol at his hands movement in this clip

Youre making a basic point Shawn, not challenging pythagoras theorem

Very impressive how much he achieved while being this charisma deficient

His rapping 96-99 and to some extent 2000-2003 is second to none though*

This is why Stacks is making flute albums. This genre is in trouble and people don’t realize it. Imagine where it will be when the current rappers get old since old people are supposed to rap about nature shyt now. I say let people do what they want but it’s whatever :yeshrug:

If you consider that depth then we have differing ideas, Like I said to him, let's just agree to disagree :handshake:
my goat is nas pac and jay so I get it, I just think its a little presumptuous because he has tracks that are but its a fair critique of drake honestly
