Selling records while alive>>>>>>> having to die for sales to increase

These silly nikkas arre mentioning all eyez on me sales when it was counted for 2 DISCS.He sold 2.5 copies not 5 million

Jay outsold pac and didn't have to die and sell 60-70 million albums posthumously like pac did.:salute:

but he DIDNT OUTSELL HIM/ pac is 10 mill ahead fukk nikka

article from 2001

2Pac has proved to be as compelling an artist as ever with his latest posthumous release Until the End of Time going three times platinum (platinum marking sales of 1 million) according to the Recording Industry Association of America's (RIAA) certifications for May. The Death Row/Interscope release puts the rapper's career sales at 33.5 million records sold. This firmly locks 2Pac into the position of best selling hip-hop artist of all time with the Notorious B.I.G. and Hammer far behind at sixteen million records sold apiece. The new round of certifications puts 2Pac at number twenty on the list of best selling solo artists.

Right, if jay z got shot and killed today, 20 million ppl are gonna go out and buy his records :heh:

10 million people over the corse of a few years could by 2 or 3 albums.

:comeon:Everybody knows death sells records.

You stupid if you think one of the highest selling recording artists of all time with the most #1 hits of any solo artist and 11 albums wwouldnt benifit for the MJ/Elvis effect.

2Pac connected better with the fans in my opinion. Jay z is an acquired taste..I wasn't into jay like that till about a year ago.

:aicmon: Nobody's gonna go out and buy a Jay record just b/c he died. He doesn't inspire people like that.

107 vs 1007 is even bigger :ohhh: look at me i can pull #'s out of thin air too.

:smugfavre: but I prefer to use verifiable sources like soundscan.

Jay Z - 29,500,000
2Pac - 29,005,000

:umad:

107 isn't a made up number guy... That's Pac's WW numbers compared to Jay's... try again

how would his sales go down to 29 mill

-Jay-z's 1st album release June 96
-Tupacs death sept 96

PAC wasn't moving big units until the end if his career. Jays 3rd album sold 5 mill, when did PAC sell 5 mill while he was alive? Pacs 1st 3 albums flopped.

Jays career started when PACs ended and Pacs sales benefited from death so u nikkas can act like jay took so long to catch PAC like Pacs 1st album didn't drop in 1991:stopitslime:

That doesn't matter. I was commenting on if someone bought any of 2pac's albums today that would count towards his 29 million. So saying it took Jay 17 years to pass Pac is inaccurate & stupid

Did I spell that out for you? :mjpls:

Nope... because Jay fans are trying to celebrate US numbers as to say that means Jay is better. Pac still doubles Jay up WW. That is my point
