My thing is, I hope he just don't try to pigeon hole all of who he reps as only NY/NJ sports teams....but I doubt it.

If they wanna expand their management of people, I'd assume they considered actors and athletes. Hollywood is too illuminati for Roc Nation to box with and Jay has been grinding his way through sports for the past 15 years or so.. So it could work, don't know if it would be worth losing all the shyt he's got in the Barclays Center though. Perhaps he has a long ass contract with them, if that's the case.. Owning the Nets is unnecessary, unless he thinks it's fun or loves being presented as a part-owner.

this WILL work... because Jay-Z, just like his role with the NETS, is purely there so you can say, Jay-Z....

he doesn't go in to sports complexes and negotiate himself. i'm sure he's not sitting around calling people, trying to make trades and deals...

but when its time for the hot young BLACK athlete to sign somewhere... not only can they come out and say, "we're CAA, the biggest and best company ever"

now they can also say, "not only that, but we got jay-z on the team, here..... call him" or walk him into the office that day... or do whatever. he's just another black celeb figurehead

if you honestly think jay is involved in the day to day operations of ANY of his businesses, you're fukking crazy... nikka didn't even run rocafella when they owned it.. he sat back and took all the credit for dame's work. he sits back and takes credit for "owning the nets" now he'll sit back and take credit for "signing cano"
Day to day operations is a full-time job.
Jay-z is the CEO, boss of all bosses, capo di tutti capi, whatever you wanna call it, he never claimed to be a worker, he claimed to be the boss.

The dude who tells people to take decisions, and only worries about the biggest decisions. Not the guy running after J. Cole seeing if he went through the right channels to get his samples cleared.

He takes all the shyt and all the credit, cause he's the head.

I don't think anyone claims he's a normal salary earning worker, yet some people love to claim that he's not and somewhat diss him for not being.

This morning, ESPN2's "First Take" discussed Roc Nation possibly maybe perhaps soon signing connecting with Gino Smith of the Jets(?) who has had some sort of PR issues. I am not current about Gino's troubles.

SASmith gave some backstory on Roc Nation's transition. He spoke as if he and Jay are bosom buddies. According to SASmith, (black male pro) athletes would go to the 40/40 Club in NYC to consult with Jay-Z about public relations and endorsement strategies. That's cool and perhaps even gracious <_< on Jay-Z's part. But let's be realistic: Jay-Z acts with ulterior motives. An altruist he AINT. Mentoring/advising those pro athletes increased Jay's social currency in sports circles, and it resulted in Jay's decision to move Roc Nation into sports.

I imagine that it is tough to get an audience with Jay-Z unless the athlete/entertainer is ALREADY A BIG DEAL. (Recall that back in the day, undiscovered Kanye had to access Jay initially via DDash. But we are not on that right now.)

Its In Partnership With The CAA, That's Like The Illuminati Having Your Back

If Hov Was Going For Dolo It Would Be A Problem

But He Has Some Powerful Influential People Backing This I Believe

If He Was Smart He'd Stay Out Of Negations And Let The Real Reps Handle Their Job And Just Stick To Being The Face Of It All

This all Jay is tho.. CAA does all the work. They have the licensed agents. He just always the face
