If you listen to Jay's catalogue he has more life lessons and motivational rhetoric than people who disparage him would care to admit.
"in the midst of all your misery nikka, stay fly
don't ever let em see you frown, even smile when you're down"

god mc tryna lead his flock to prosperity :blessed:

You're welcome. How does it feel to have no backbone, and have to do a disappearing act when asked to clarify basic shyt?

Nothing would have been clarified. We can't even agree on what a "banger" is.

And essentially, I surmised that you were asking me to tell you something I couldn't possibly know.
That would only lead to a mire.

And I don't have to clarify why I don't agree with your opinions. I can just say I don't agree and we
can conclude.

:what: You don't know this. You just assumed. Actually, you backed away. And we've spent more time talking about how you backed away instead of you just clarifying your position.

And I don't have to clarify why I don't agree with your opinions. I can just say I don't agree and we

That's disrespectful. I gave you the courtesy of explaining my position. I respected your comment by giving it a thoughtful reply. Out of respect for the conversation, you should extend that courtesy to me.

Even if courtesy isn't your thing... hip hop is about backbone. If you don't have the backbone to stand behind what you think, it shows cowardice and dishonesty. Hip hop at its core is not about that. You know you're being challenged, but you don't wanna address it. so you get on some cognitive dissonance shyt.

These are the kind of actions that prevent learning. I could have schooled you today. or at least made you rethink your position. Just as you could school me another time and make rethink my position.

But if either of us is cancelling dialogue before it even starts, on a forum designed for fans to share and learn, then we're defeating the whole purpose of this forum.

You showed you didn't give a damn about my position.

The only reason we were having an exchange on that topic was because you said you didn't like the beats on American Gangster.
I said I did, and I explained why...to which you expressed that my opinion didn't matter to you, because you wanted something else
from them.

Then, you gave me an assignment: to tell you what beats you would like. How in the almighty fucc could I know that?
My thought at that point was "hell, he could go back and listen to American Gangster for himself instead of talking to me..."

That conversation was quickly approaching a dead end.

It had started, and I could ascertain how it would finish.
What truly would I have gained by continuing to converse on this matter with you?

Would you "school me" or "make me rethink my position" that I like American Gangster? I don't think so.
So all of these words and time were wasted. Thanks again.

You showed you didn't give a damn about my position.

when did that happen? :what: This is what I said before you started withdrawing from convo:

In light of what I just said, can you re-recommend the top 3 greatest beats on AG?

Again, no backbone. You have spent more time hitting me with the juelz than answering the damn question, so you can't tell me about you wasting words and time. You need more people.

For fux sake, what are the 3 most mindblowing beats to you on this album?

I think you've seen enough proof that Billy Ocean can't keep my name out his mouth. That's where all this stems from. He is my #2 or #1 stan, depending on how often my retarded son 10bands comes on The Coli.

We aint Cain and Abel. That implies we were once brothers and on the same level. Hocean has never been on my level and something about me triggers his insecurity.
Talk shyt about @Billy Ocean but don't tag him in the thread when he's gone? That's cause you fear him in the digital and physical form :pacspit:

nope. If you don't have the best beats, you're not gonna have the best records. Lettuce be real here.
You should have just asked for best songs then.
People fukk around and ruin classic beats all the time.

Here's my top three songs:
  1. Party Life - beat is just amazing and Jay was perfect on top of it. This is the kind of record you can put on in the car...and just keep running it back for an hour. You need to look deep inside yourself and realize that you do not have a soul if you don't feel this shyt. Not like this shyt. FEEL this shyt.
  2. Roc Boys - Beat is so soulful :wow:. Can't believe it was :takedat:and the Hitmen. Just came out of nowhere and dropped a banger. I remember I was walking out of a club in NYC one night in late 2007 and the DJ dropped this record as we were making our way downstairs. I had been waiting for the DJ to drop this record all night and it was a combination of :blessed:and :mjcry:since we were leaving. :mjlol:
  3. Not sure whether to go with "I Know", "Blue Magic" or "Success" :jbhmm:. Blue Magic is the record that, of course, got me hyped for the album. I can't call it. :manny:
I'm leaving off a lot of great records too :mjcry:shyt was hard :mjcry:
Jay's last hurrah :mjcry:
@SirBiatch you didn't fukk with The Joy :usure:
