It's the athleticism that the main thing. Tatum not a bad athlete but at the NBA level especially for a wing there are so many more athletic wings in the league than him especially for strength and explosion. He can't just put the ball down and get a bucket or foul anytime he want and if that 3 is not fallin you already know what type of game he finna have. That was a draft concern for him too. Just in this series. Jaylen, Derrick and PJ are noticeably more athletic than him. Its also biggest reason Andrew Wiggins locked his ass up 1 on 1 and why Jimmys Heat have so much success against them.

Yeah yeah he's been shooting badly.

But do people even watch his games? He has developed great playmaking skills, his defense is very solid and the plan is to break down opponents defense, which he has been doing well, which opens up the spots for other players to make their shots. Dallas might even try just allowing him to score and concentrate their defense on others, if nothing is working.

If he wasn't such a streaky shooter the Celtics might be attempting to win their 2nd championship with this squad right now.

But it is what it is, he's far from a one dimensional player, he's shown maturity. Would you want him to keep spamming bad shots and shooting Celtics out of the game? That's now what the Celtics motto is.
