For years Jaz was telling Jay how when and why

Jay wasn’t gonna let that happen


In fact it was said since Jaz wasn’t gonna sign to roc-a-fella he thought his ace in the hole was


He was gonna make Jay leave the roc but that wasn’t gonna happen


Pretty much the same situation Dehaven had he wanted the big brother little brother brother dynamic

Yep, Jay was on the 5 percenter tip back in the day... around the same time Jaz ran down to Atl. Once Rocafella got on and Jay started switching up his style/ image and running with Dame, Jaz wasn't really feeling that. If you let Jaz tell it, it was never about the money for him... and he wasn't with the mafioso vibe that the label was pushing so he distanced himself.

In the midst of all that the student became the teacher. Then Jay blew up with Vol 2. Jay put Jaz on the Timbo track... Jaz felt some type of way because his verse was last... Jaz felt the label only reached out when they came across something that fit his style and never really treated him like fam. Dame offered him a contact some time after that timbo track dropped and he turned it down.... said there wasn't room in the label for both him and Jay

They saw how he was moving and thought maybe there was some jealously at play. All this way before the Let's Go video shoot.

At the end of the day it seems it was a lot of miscommunication mixed with egos on both sides that led what eventually happened

Them nikkas were semi beefing way before that. I'm talking about from Hard Knock Life era. Jaz ain't like being put on the 4th fukking verse for nikka What nikka Who since he had the best part. Radio would sometimes cut Jaz'o 's parts off.. Then from there Jaz ain't like the deal Jay offered him on the Roc. I think it was something like 150k and Jaz felt it was too low.

The video shoot was just the final straw that provoked the diss. If you from the era you know it wasn't only that.

Jay gave sauce the opportunity to write the song

Sauce pretty much retired from rapping off those checks for years

I think (not exactly sure) it was a end date to when the royalties stopped per sting

Sauce stopped getting those checks those was the biggest ones


Sauce had a pic of a basket of mail of unopened checks next to his recliner from ghost writing


But those “I will be missing you” checks was massive

To be honest I kinda get it


Imagine having a card like Jay as a friend but he not really trying to go out his way to help you


I would be upset too



But Jay is like “damn I’m not a genie to grant wishes all the time”


That’s why Memphis bleek will go out his way not to ask Jay for anything


Because it got to be annoying after awhile


Jay only have a email on him and bleek says that changes all the time and only a few have it
