You can't even pay homage to none of these old broke n*ggas anymore.

Because for them, they should get paid for you throwing a nod at them. Sh*t is wack. All this is, is a bitter dude mad that he can't monetize on Jeezy using a flow he used. Nobody owns flows in Hip Hop. Bro is literally mad that he can't get paid for another rapper using his flow. These dudes are trying to make up new "rules" for some sh*t that's always been present in the culture. For a check or a shoutout. All of Hip Hop's weirdos and losers ain't always young.

A lot of these old dudes are straight up bums and weirdos.
Have to disagree somewhat. We have a thread a mile long of ripoff artists and biters. If he was flagrantly using son's style (IDK because I'd rather eat a nail and glass sandwich than listen to Jeezy, and I've never hear a GM song, he should have reached out and got the blessing on some MC shyt, but maybe that's just a North thing, because that sort of thing could get you hurt in the golden era. Or dissed badly.

Dudes are so touchy. Obviously Jeezy was paying homage, cause he is definitely of the age that he was jammin' Ghetto Mafia back in the day. But what was he supposed to do? Call dude to ask permission? If a NY rapper dropped a track doing the diggidy iggidy Das EFX style, everyone would know it's a tribute to Das EFX, there's no mistaking that style. Would the NY rapper have to have gotten Das EFX blessing or could they just run with it, knowing real heads would know what they was doing?

I see both sides of the argument, but it's a reach. I suppose Jeezy could've said "I'm on my Ghetto Mafia shyt on this one, let's gooo" before the verse starts and maybe that would've made everyone happy and it wouldn't have hurt Jeezy to say that. But I don't think it was a requirement or anything.

It's kinda like the whole "Migos flow" thing... where nerds were saying they stole their flow from Lord Infamous and fukkin Freestyle Fellowship LOL. But then, after Migos became popular, other rappers were borrowing the "Migos flow" too.. it was kinda just a vibe for a moment.
This outrage was nonexistsnt when Push mimicked Guru's flow on LGSEO. Folks just need something to feel indignant about.....

Facts.

Paying homage is literally one of the highest forms of respect an MC pays another one. Dave from De La said he was doing his "Biz impression and flow" on "The Bizness" with Common. He made the beat to give to Biz, but when he didn't take it, he decided to just rap like Biz on it. And then named the song after him. This is how MC's show love.

But if you're washed and looking for a way to hate and broke, you'll try to make this about some other sh*t if someone is paying homage to you. Legends have been doing this since the 70's, in Hip Hop. It just goes to show who the lames are, if you have an issue with it or think people "own" flows and are above homage.

Also, just because a lot of these dudes have social media profiles, doesn't mean you HAVE to hit them up to use a flow.

This era of entitlement, outrage, clickbait, outrage, gossiping and podcasting is the worst shyt. Got me sounding like an old man. What happened to men being men? Roll up on Jeezy and knock him out, hit his phone and tell him what's on your mind, or just keep doing your thing, whatever that is, but this gay ass shyt.....no.

I mean, it’s definitely the Straight From the Dec flow … I’m almost certain that’s what Jeezy is drawing from, even if it was like subconsciously….but also, so the fukk what :heh:…nikkas flows get flipped every day, B…feel honored and mention it when you run into Jeezy one of these days…but because every thing has to be “content” now a days he had to dress up like a deer hunter and record a sitcom length video bout the shyt

This is fukking hilarious.

and that is 100%.
