Some of you either failed economic 101 classe or don’t understand supply and demand and market dynamics. If I hire 100 muscular people, go to the country side and decide to dig 1000 holes in 3 day and ask to be rewarded by “Someone”. I doubt anybody will put a cent in my pocket. Nobody could argue that “no work was done”. But the same type of work divided on various construction sites with me as a contractor might bring some paper. Bezos is a billionaire because each of the individuals buying on Amazon benefits from his efficient services do it based based on their own self interest. You want to be the first to cop a book by your favourite author while sitting on a couch, Amazon got you. You want to move your whole IT infrastructure to the cloud, they got you, etc. The self interests of Amazon and the consumer must be aligned. To demonstrate this, if an end of the world type asteroid is about to hit earth in 3 weeks, Amazon hypothetically could keep selling the same products as today, but the company market cap will be close to zero and Bezos net worth close to zero. Consumers self interests would be directed somewhere else(spirituality, spending time with loved ones, survival) and buying more stuff when you have 3 weeks to live won’t be one of them. Your net worth is only as high as the free market recognizes it.

Bezos has improved the lives of millions, provided thousands of jobs, changed how we shop for the better. Improved technology. Most of these technologies we use everyday are owned by Amazon.
Bezos doesnt owe anyone anything, he worked hard, let him enjoy the fruits of his labour.
In a perfect world they would pay their fair share in taxes, instead of all these tax avoidance schemes.
