To piggyback off this, another good source of information about JWs and their history is jwfacts.comI grew up in that shyt and glad I left, I just wish I had left way sooner. I won't tell anyone what to do but if you want to get involved in that religion then good luck to you.
There's a black couple with an excellent youtube channel by the name of ExJW Critical Thinker.

Here is the bottom line most people who want to live whatever lifestyle they want and JW's don't allow that. So if you want to be promiscuous or are involved in a freakish unnatural relationship then you'll be rejected by them. If you want to live a life of hedonism that's not something they agree with. I think that's what turns most people off. It's the incredibly high standards.

I got a good cousin who left when he was like 18 and later went to college his parents don't want nothing to do with him because of it. He even got two kids they ain't seen yet. He 34 now. When he tried to make contact with them they was like

Some of my best family members are JW's. They've helped me out immensely. I just noticed that most people who have a bone to pick with them are usually living a lifestyle that is not "scriptural". So they just can't let go of the fact that JW's have strong beliefs that they uphold.

First it was "millions now living will never die" but now that we are past the 100 year mark, the goalpost has moved to the "overlapping generation". 
I used to have that irrational kneejerk fear of "apostasy" until I left and started to do the research. Most so called "apostates" are actually really good people and aren't "being used by Satan". It's funny to me how some JWs hop on those channels and argue with the same people their own "Governing Body" tell them to avoid.
It's got nothing to do with them being good people or not, because I can point to terrible examples of people in there and really great examples of people I have known and met ever since and the difference is like night and day.

They also say apostates or whoever calls them out lie whenever there is criticism about them. But you and I both know that's bullshyt. How are they lying when their story is more or less all the same??? Don't even get me started on "old light". *Eye roll* I could honestly go off about this all day lol so I'll keep it to that for now.
Yeah, I've noticed that about them as well. The "worldly" folks are the "big bad". But they're more or less the same tho!
like how do y'all shyt on everyone while simultaneously doing the same shyt as them???And me too, I had an irrational fear of the world ending because "Armageddon is right around the corner". And even though I'm only 24, i felt like I somehow wasted half of my life living in fear. (I was never a jw despite being raised in it - never got that far). I always felt I was never...good enough no matter what I did in that religion. I'm sure I'm not the only one who's felt that though.
Once I did extensive research, i was angry. Angry that I have been bamboozled. shyt, I'm still hot about it. But I guess better sooner than later.
Sorry, I'm all over the place with this x.x but you get what I mean.
