Jemele Hill doesn’t believe fathers should give their daughters a whooping. Says it should be left to the mom…

My pops didn’t whoop me at all and it’s because he didn’t have to. He was a big 6’2 breh with a deep commanding voice like James Earl Jones. He threatened to whoop me several times, but never had to actually take it there because just raising his voice was enough to get me to straighten up :hubie:

Now my mom on the other hand… she had to whoop my ass.:lolbron:

Nah , bet you she don't even have kids, the threat needs to be there and sometimes it needs to be materialized for some people to act right. It only took me seeing my GM beat the breaks of my cousin one time for me to act right my whole childhood. I personally only put hands on one of my kids because he disrespected his mother in front of me branzingly.

I was very intentional about letting my girls know who the boss is.
I can't imagine beating my kids and having them afraid of me.

Just a very mild spanking for the youngest in her hell raising phase, but time out and denying access to things worked.

The nuclear bomb is telling one of them that I am disappointed in them.
That phrase broke my daughter down so bad that I was almost scared to say it again.

Anyway, the goal of a father is that when shyt goes down, no matter what it is, your kid does not think "I can't let dad know about this" but "I gotta call dad right now!"

Or perhaps maybe not being disciplined appropriately is more to the reason why they're in prison. Is "spanking" the one and only way to discipline a child? What about all the children who don't end up in prison who were never whooped when they were a child?

As opposed to all the kids who got spankings that aren’t in jail? Are we really using the American prison industrial complex as a barometer of how effective corporal punishment is as a disciplinary tool?

You was causing trouble. :russ:

My dad whooped me and my sisters.

I got whooped all the time

The middle barely got whooped. Maybe about 5 times total.

The last used to crash out and she was would get it more than she.

He didn't whoop them once they got into middle school. Me and my dad would go through wars by the time I was in HS.

My momma whooped me once and I busted out laughing. That just wasn't her thing. She's a, imma call your dad, type. She was strict though, more strict than pops by a mile.

We are probably at a point where spanking is no longer a conventional way of punishing children. So, her stating isn't really out of pocket.

Spanking is no longer conventional? According to cacs in lab coats or the nergoes influenced by those cac?

Lol okay.

This doesn't work like you think it does.

Getting whooped as a child isn't a silver bullet to stop them growing up and turning into convicts, which is why your hypothesis doesn't make sense. Discipline is what's relevant here and you can instill discipline without resorting to "spankings". It's 2025, I don't even know why we're having this conversation anymore.
Are we really using the American prison industrial complex as a barometer of how effective corporal punishment is as a disciplinary tool?
:dwillhuh:

Where are you even going with this? How is this even relevant to my argument? Aren't you the one who hold this opinion?
