I could always tell who has kids versus who has theories in this thread. Kids are little human beings, you can’t train them like puppies. Sometimes they gonna test you to see if you are about it and no amount of go stand in the corner or let me explain is going to cut it. When my kids cross the line then I’m disciplining them, I’m not interested in no social experiment.

There is a reason why they tell you to follow orders in the army, it’s not to humiliate or test your manhood rather it’s to keep you alive. That’s my approach, when I tell my kids to clean up their rooms or put away their tablets it’s an order and not a discussion.

Except some of actually know real people who were never spanked and have never committed a crime and have achieved a lot in life. I do what works for my kids, the responsibility of being a parent is real life, it can’t be made up or heard about from non parents.

That's why violence shouldn't be the first course of action. Kids are smarter than what I believe/remember but their emotional intelligence grows much slower which I why so many kids do dumb shyt get whipped and do dumb shyt again but sneakier. They may have grew some fear from the beating but they aren't looking at it the reason for the beating the same way you are looking at it.
I found being stern and taking away things a long with awarding good behavior and good grades works better
