Brooklyn keeps on taking it.
Scarface was on that album.

And he's worked with T.I. and Jeezy.

But I do believe theres a level of truth to what he's saying.

Now that you brought up Scarface I would say the old school southern rappers didn’t sound “slow” to me at all. Well at least the main stream ones

I appreciate him saying this publicly. I'm sure a lot of Southerners were into that Nas/Rakim type of shyt too...but speaking in general I understand what he's saying. That simple, easily digestible content/rapping always shines brighter to the masses because most people aren't that bright and really don't like paying attention for too long.

Talk about sellin dope and rims and clubbin and have swag and shyt. Dudes like shyt that makes them feel cool, it's really that simple, they wanna sing along and feel like it's them talking about themselves, haha. When you in the whip you want chicks/people to see you and hear what you're hearing, cool shyt, I get it..but that shouldn't be the criteria for what makes an MC a G.O.A.T.

Jay-z could actually rap but he also embodied that "simple/shallow" cool shyt too, that's why he shows up in more Top 5's than a Nas, especially in the South. Imagine a Yo Gotti/Young Jeezy or somebody listening to "Halftime", I can't even picture it.

And salute him for naming my guy Push. Been saying Pusha deserves a Top 25 spot for the longest. Top 5 is stupid tho, lol, hell naw.

shouldnt have said that about nas's music or atlanta. his too old to make them generic garbage statements, lack of intelligence is not why nas isnt bumped in atlanta so he says.

i have always looked at atlanta as party district with heavy bass, nas is intricate doesnt make you less inteligent for not wanting to follow his music.

raekwon is the most intricate and he was on that outkast track, nas is a lyricist and caters his sounds to highlight his verses. down south rely on hooks and beats thats not a dig just observation.

I figured they were people out there bumping from it was written-god son days when he was mainstream anyway and perhaps after hip hop is dead not so much

And I mean yeah the south had bass music back in the day but Outkast and Goodie Mob were bringing bars

I dont think in the 90s it was a case of club culture music OR bars. You could rock both

Maybe post 03 things got different but hip hop got different

Ft. Stewart, Ga
Jermaine talking about HIMSELF not all southern nikkas. Even Nas himself said Southern nikkas ain’t slow.

Jay Electronica is a southern rapper with Nas’s aura in his lyrical DNA. Scarface loves Nas. Ludacris loves Nas. Rick Ross loves Nas. Killer Mike loves Nas. Hell MIGOS fukks with Nas.

I’ve been to five Nas concerts in my life. All in Atlanta. All sold out. The south fukks with Nas.
