Yea, wrong. She had dropped some duds once we hit the turn of the millennium. Emancipation alone has outsold every album she’s dropped in the 2000s combined. None of them shyts after mattered like that one did for her or even remotely came close to going diamond.

But JD still put together the project...
And the timing with usher going through his stuff with Chili in public was added promo and Usher leaned into the blurred lines of JDs life he was singing about...


Now Usher had much more input on 8701 cause it leaked a couple times so he did a lot of songs solo dolo and Usher's stuff was actually better than the original record label plan.

I don't know about Thriller, that was a lighting in a bottle/ perfect timing album. Perhaps a Confessions type of album for sure. Just keep it to about 14 to 16 songs tho, i don't wanna listen to a 40 track album :pachaha:
