And no The Neptunes could not pull it off. Chad or no Chad. Here's why, they had Justin Timberlake out here sounding like sounding and looking like a knock off Usher/Michael Jackson hybrid with "Like I Love You". While I love the song, it wasn't the breakout song Justin needed. Enter "Cry Me A River". This song was Justin coming into his own. And no this doesn't sound like something Ginuwine would've. It was big and orchestral in contrast to the smooth, futuristic sound of Ginuwine's 100% or The Bachelor. The Neptunes don't even have a 100% or Bachelor, so its confusing how they would pull off a Thriller for Chris Brown. There's not even a 20/20 Experience in The Neptunes catalog, which is why I could never put them above Timbaland.

Dope post

Mentioned in another thread… i downloaded around 400 timbaland joints last week to take to an upcoming trip to texas and its gonna be all im listening to.

Man, Timbaland is easily top 5 urban producer all time for me (im more of a glossy/over-production/popular/mainstream head).

Kanye
Mannie
Jd
Chad

Round out the top 5 for me. Ever.

Remember when JD and Currency supposedly had like 20 albums in the cut and were doing mad promo for a Vol 1 release that flopped and was never referenced again

Exactly. Don’t nobody wanna hear them sh*t's.

JD is sitting on a million dope beats. He can still hop on the MP and cook great tracks. But he's not releasing any actual music that matches what he's making when he's just casually putting beats together on his IG.

Jermaine really gotta stop saying dumb sh*t so regularly.

And throwing Chris Brown's name in the same sentence as MJ is wild disrespectful.

Dude ain't even on Usher's level.

Chris is clearly more talented than usher.

A thread full of cats who have NO IDEA about the impact and influence that Thriller had, yet in here downplaying the album like it can easily be done again. :russ:
