It's less that they're the least funny and more that they appeal to the widest audience. You have to make concessions in your comedy as to not offend certain demographics. If you let certain successful comedians you think aren't funny speak completely freely with no chance of backlash, they'd probably be funnier than you think. It'd be like Wayne Brady when he was on Chappelle.
