Not necessarily JC but I will be in the market for a spot next year. Rent is too high but I'm growing and need my own space and can afford it so it is what it is.

Next? Since when is Harrison an area that was eligible to experience gentrification? It was always a suburban town.
Harrison NJ, suburban? :dwillhuh:

From the PATH train it seems mostly industrial while all the residential building look fairly new.

When the Red Bulls built the stadium the gentrification started popping. As for jersey city, this started 15 years ago with the Goldman Sachs building. The whole waterfront up to west New York is called the Gold Coast. A friend of mine in the city govt told me all those local politicians were eating good off all the kickbacks.

It's an outskirt town between Newark and Jersey City that was already primarily White/Hispanic and working-middle class. You can say "developed" but to me gentrification is connected to urban areas and attempting to transform lower income or impoverished areas.

Downtown JC looks just like Brooklyn now. Wait too long you gonna be priced out of damn near the entire city. The plans they have for practically half of West side Ave is intriguing to say the least.

Every time I visit back home, little by little I feel like an out of towner.
