North Jersey
NJ is a unique state. The state is virtually a suburb from head to toe. Northern Half part of the nyc metro and southern half part of the Philly metro area.

So yes a lot of NJ culture is related to both cities and both sides of NJ root for their respective teams. North - Knicks, Yankees, Mets, Giants.

South - Eagles, Phillies and Sixers.
To add. Parts of South Jersey look like Tennessee or West VA, the accents and the house architecture even changes. And the Shore turns into either the Hamptons or Myrtle Beach, depending on the time of year.

I feel like if NJ wasn't sandwiched between NYC and Philly it would be Delaware status. Entire claim to fame is being close to NYC. I guess Atlantic City is there... But I'm not from the east coast so please educate me if I'm wrong. :hubie:

Jersey
I think he’s talking about Philly rappers using club beats on their songs now and they doing the same dances. People from NY and Philly used to clown that shyt and now they all jumping on the wave. I know Jersey didn’t create club music. Baltimore did, but they didn’t get that shyt from Baltimore.

I don’t recall a New Yorker in my presence even mentioning club music. I’m willing to bet most of the people I know don’t even know what it is.

Maybe this might be some back in the day stuff. Im 33

Met a lot of chill nikkas from Jersey and Philly.

Is there some kind of rivalry between the two spots or not really?

Nah. Only real 'beef' was during the Crack Era when Philly cats fought against Trenton/Camden cats over profits and were travelling into each others' territory.
