So why are the Jets keeping Rex & Sanchez if that's the inevitable outcome for this season? Why not cut bait & tank for Clowney instead of actually trying to be competitive? Fez is terrible, but he'll keep NYJ in some games. Why not clean house & see what Geno can do.

Sanchez is still on the roster for cap reasons.

They are tanking/reseting. They just traded their best player. Rex is coaching out his last year of his contract. Plus, the HC market was saturated last year with so many guys getting fired.

That's exactly what they're doing.

I don't think people really understand how shyty the jets beat writers have been the past two years manufacturing stories.

Cimini has a clear disdain for Geno

Because starting Fez IS tanking for Clowney.

The NFL should consider retracting the Jets organization.

The Jests would be best off this season starting like 1-5 or some shyt, having an excuse to fire rex, so the team can 'quit' a little while we see what Geno Smith is made of. If hes a real nikka that actually believes in his heart that he should have been the first pick in the draft, he shows flashes, maybe a 4th q comeback or two, but since the coach is fired the 'risk' of overachieving is lessoned. The jests go 3-13 or 4-12 and have a great draft to compliment their new qb of the future.

Worst case scenario they start like 4-2, sanchez gets a little confidence back and they go like 7-9 . Then Sanchez and Ryan probably get canned anyway but they arent in as good of a position to rebuild. They dont know what Geno is made of and he hasnt been able to build confidence. As a bills fan I know this nightmare all too well :wow:
This, more or less. Everyone hates Sanchez already. Just let him and Rex take the full brunt of the media and fan backlash for the first half of the season atleast. Don't get it twisted, the media is ready to throw some shade at Geno as well and you add playing for the Jets and that would be a really rough situation to throw him into week 1. Sitting behind Sanchez he gets the benefit of being the unknown commodity so by the time he hits the field there will be optimize instead of people itching to slander him over the draft night stuff.

And you haven't heard a good thing about the guy. He hasn't impressed anyone.

The fact is he was trash to begin with, consider yourselves lucky to have got him for 2nd round money.

how can you impress anyone without there being a single practice?

How can I have some more if I havent had any yet?
