what Garrard talk....he's a plug in guy for a year most likely... theres no long term plan for Garrard....this isnt a one year revamp for the Jets

theres no upside with Garrard but he wont make the boneheaded errors Sanchez makes

Garrard is culpepper on the dolphins, FINISHED.

:dead: why are you surprised ? you do understand your opinion of him is clearly much higher than of most people ? you could be right for all we know, but is it really that surprising ?

I watched his tape. I evaluated it. I seen some of the flaws others are talking about but I also know that most of them are easily correctable if you focus on them. I still say he is the best pure passer I've evaluated in my 15 years of doing this. I don't see why he goes in the 2nd round. He is NFL ready. He needs to work on some things like his drops. He has the amazing feet that remind you of Marino. He has the arm to make every throw. He constantly throws his WR open. He can make a scrub look better than the scrub actually is. His feel for the game is elite right now which is extremely rare. Only a few have it to that degree in their entire careers, he is elite at it right now.

He has no killer flaws, nothing that tells me he doesn't need to be on the field in year one. While he is not close to were he could be as a QB potentially, he is very good right now. You give him a OL and a couple of weapons and he could dominate. He is an exceptional pure passer. Those guys don't come around often. Rivers might be the best we have in the NFL right now. Smith actually has great pocket mobility unlike Rivers. I don't see any reason he doesn't break some passing records for rookies in his 1st year. All the teams who passed up on him made an epic mistake.

Yes, but remember my stance on Geno. I didn't want the Jets to draft a QB this year for some of the same concerns you have.

so again youll just get a top qb and 'try him out' trying to fit a square peg in a round hole....and if he doesnt work out....rinse and repeat ?

how is drafting a qb fitting a square peg into a round hole.

the jets franchise didnt make Kellen Clemens suck.

And Sanchez should have never been drafted that high...unfortunately the owner wanted to make a splash with a good looking qb. he had 16 starts in college...

That's not what I said. I want a franchise QB. How we handle that QB is TBD by Idzik's drafting ability. Let's see how some of these pieces fit, that way, the next QB won't have these same pressing concerns. That way, if the next QB fails, no excuses.

I can understand may fans wanting Teddy B over Geno Smith. Teddy B might be one of the best QB prospects of all time with Luck, Peyton, Elway and RG3.

His mechanics were terrible breh. That's not on the "weapons" around him. Dude was throwing flutterballs to open guys downfield, staring down double & triple teamed receivers & forcing it anyway with guys underneath open. He was making rookie mistakes in Year 4. That's not even getting into the fumbling issues.

Say what you want about his "weapons", but when a play was there to made (hitting a guy in stride, making the right read, etc), he couldn't get the job done.

Sounds like poor man's Eli.

fair enough. I just dont think you will able to build a team before next year. and you probably will have to get rid of rex.

Here is the thing, there were scouts, players like Dilfer, peers, and coaches who felt he was like I felt he was. Even analytics specialists.

:deadrose: Of course, what type of question is that. Once in a gen QB's>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Anyone else regardless of how good they are Day 1. A cornerstone QB guarantees you success for many years. A cornerstone DE assures you a solid at worse defense but not team success.
