again.. you're making up arguments.

i never said NOT to commit to geno.

i said drafting a qb in the second round doesn't automatically commit the team to years of developing him.
ok...so how many years does geno get then ? how many years/starts/reps does he need to prove/disprove something ?

the eagles weren't committed to kolb. they're not committed to foles. the pats aren't committed to mallett. the panthers weren't committed to clausen. etc.
those are all different situations altogether. eagles and pats clearly had better qbs behind them. panthers decided to grab a physical specimen in cam.

what do the jets need to do before drafting a qb?
first, get chemistry in order. rex seems to split this team up. you NEED a glue coach, and at this point rex might be a lame duck.

second, you need to build the front 7. that defense is pathetic. get some receivers. the only rookie qb able to do anything without a good WRs lately was RGIII. a #1 WR goes a long way to establishing confidence.

you need to get a top 10 defense, especially run defense and pass rush established. secondary isnt as important, because nowadays it feeds off the front 7, and can be addressed after.

your oline is actually fine more or less in talent, its just I think they gave up. that goes back to the first point about chemistry and locker room unity.

oh and get rid of tebow for fukks sake :skip:

by the way, maybe youre not getting my point. I have nothing against the jets drafting geno in this draft, at that slot hes a good pick up even though Im not a believer. he shouldnt start yet until this team stops being a dysfunctional place.

You think I WANNA see Fez fail? I don't. There have been players on teams I root for that I couldn't stand, but I'm not gonna root against a player on my team just so I can be right. That's counterproductive.

:rudy:

You said you hope Sanchez starts so we can have #1 pick next year.

and Alex Smith becoming a serviceable qb has made a few ppl believe qb isnt the most important position on the field...

posts like this is why you are a fukking terrible poster.

alex smith has nothing to do with any of this shyt. he literally has zero of anything to do with any of my beliefs in football. alex smith is irrelevant in the grand scheme of things

stop putting words in my mouth.

it won't be a fair competition. In fact, it'll be a really rigged competition. Rex isn't gonna give up on Mark.

Geno is a much better Football player. The gap between them is like a slightly worse back-up QB in Henne compared to a rookie Sam Bradford. The gap is epic. Sanchez was COMPLETELY overdrafted. I am still surprised Geno wasn't #1 overall. I seen much worse drafted high and to be honest, I am not sold that Fisher will be more impactful than Smith as a rookie or ever as a pro.

It seems like people overrated Geno's flaws and underrated his strengths. Geno's biggest strength is his feel for the game in general. It's not easy to see on highlights but if you watch him play, his feel for the game reminds you of Brady. Now outside of that, Geno currently doesn't have an elite skill but he could in a year or two. Maybe at the beginning of the pre-season if he improves his drops and comfort in his footwork. He has excellent feet but he doesn't have good experience under center with 3,5,7 step drops.

Jets wont be drafting first anyways....If Garrard starts and stays healthy the defense will be good enough to beat bad teams

:dead: why are you surprised ? you do understand your opinion of him is clearly much higher than of most people ? you could be right for all we know, but is it really that surprising ?

Here is the thing about Alex Smith. He was always serviceable. He just wasn't good till SF had some talent. Sanchez has never been serviceable. Sanchez has always been below average or bad except in the playoffs when all the teams focused on stopping the run. I don't see the comparisons. I think Sanchez playoff performance skew the view of Sanchez. He has never been a serviceable QB during the regular season. Ever.

and with that #1 pick...you are hoping to draft....a new QB ? :skip:

Yes, but remember my stance on Geno. I didn't want the Jets to draft a QB this year for some of the same concerns you have.

:what: Like there is no such thing as draft busts. How about hoping some one gets better.

Sure I could do that, but I'm also being realistic about where Fez stands. You could wait for the redemption of Fez if you want, shyt I'm down to let him have that chance. Doesn't mean it's gonna come to fruition.

Sanchez was pretty good in the New England playoff game...other than that he wasnt exactly doing much

He literally did nothing in the Chargers game

Trip has me dying with this Garrard talk

what Garrard talk....he's a plug in guy for a year most likely... theres no long term plan for Garrard....this isnt a one year revamp for the Jets

theres no upside with Garrard but he wont make the boneheaded errors Sanchez makes
